Mojiang Hani Autonomous County, subordinate to Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, is located in the south of Yunnan Province and the east of Pu'er City. It is 350 kilometers away from Kunming City in the north and 220 kilometers away from Pu'er City in the southwest. It is the main traffic route from the mainland of China to the Southwest frontier of Yunnan Province. As of 2006, Mojiang Hani Autonomous County has jurisdiction over 15 townships (towns), 163 villages and 5 communities. In 2010, the total population of Mojiang Hani Autonomous County was 360507. Among them, there were 9 branches of Hani nationality with 235000 people, accounting for 61.8% of the total population.
Mojiang County is the only Hani Autonomous County in China established on November 28, 1979. Since 2005, Mojiang County has held "China · Mojiang Tropic of cancer international twins Festival and Hani Sun Festival" every year. The Tropic of cancer of Mojiang County passes through the city, known as "the hometown of Hani, the city of return, the home of twins" and "the place where the sun turns". Mojiang County is rich in purple rice. In 2007, it was awarded the title of "hometown of purple rice in China" by the recommendation and publicity Organization Committee of the hometown of Chinese specialty.
On September 25, 2018, it won the honorary title of "2018 e-commerce into rural comprehensive demonstration county" of the Ministry of Commerce. In June 2020, it will be included in the list of the first batch of National Forest Rehabilitation bases. On May 17, 2020, it will officially withdraw from the poverty-stricken counties.
In 2018, the GDP of Mojiang County was 6.53 billion yuan, the general public budget revenue of local finance was 386 million yuan, the general public budget expenditure of local finance was 3.01 billion yuan, and the total retail sales of social consumer goods was 1.42 billion yuan.
Historical evolution
Before the second year of Yuanfeng (109 B.C.) in the Western Han Dynasty, Mojiang County is now a dependency of the ancient Dai state "mengdaguang" (Ailao state).
In the second year of Yuanfeng in the Western Han Dynasty (109 BC), the Han Dynasty conquered Yunnan and other tribes, such as Kunming and Xi, and set up Yizhou county. It extended its power into the territory of "mengdaguang" (Ailao state) to set up counties (strongholds), and "mengdaguang" (Ailao state) retreated westward. Today, Mojiang County has become a free land.
In the first year of emperor Xuandi's Festival (69), mengdaguang (Ailao state) was attached to the Han Dynasty and located in Yongchang County. The county (stronghold) previously set up in mengdaguang was divided into Yongchang County from Yizhou county. Today, Mojiang County belongs to Yongchang County.
In the third year of Jianxing (225), Shuhan was divided into Jianning County, Yuejun county and Yongchang County to set up Yunnan county. Today, Mojiang County belongs to Yunnan county.
In 271, the four counties of Jianning, Xinggu, Yunnan and Yongchang were set up as ningzhou. Today, Mojiang County is still Yunnan county.
In the second year of Yuanxi (420) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Eastern Jin Dynasty perished, and then the Song Dynasty (Southern Dynasty), Qi Dynasty (Southern Dynasty), Liang Dynasty (Southern Dynasty) and other mainland dynasties gradually withdrew from the Yunnan Plateau. After Chen Dynasty (Southern Dynasty) replaced Liang Dynasty (Southern Dynasty), the mainland Dynasty completely abandoned the Yunnan Plateau. Today, Mojiang County has become an autonomous territory of Dai nationality.
In the 26th year of Kaiyuan (738), the Dai nationality of mengshe (Weishan basin) came to the Erhai Basin and established the regime of mengshelong (Nanzhao state in Chinese); in the first year of Yongtai (765), mengshelong (Nanzhao state) established Yinsheng Jiedu in Menggu (Jingdong basin) and governed Menggu and its south area, and owned Yinsheng City, Kainan City, Weiyuan city and Fengyi city Today, Mojiang County belongs to Yinsheng Jiedu Tongyi river.
In 937, Duan Siping, the former Tonghai Jiedu envoy of mengshelong (Nanzhao state), entered the Erhai Basin to build Dali state, and set up Yinsheng Jiedu in Menggu along the old system of mengshelong;
In the third year of Shaosheng of Song Dynasty (1096), Dali abolished the military jurisdiction of Jiedu and Dudu, and set up eight prefectures, four prefectures and four towns. Today, Mojiang County first belongs to Yinsheng Jiedu, and then to Talang, Yinyuan and Malang divisions of Weichu Prefecture.
In the fourth year of Mongolian Xianzong (1254), the great Mongolia destroyed Dali; in the sixth year of Mongolian Xianzong (1256), the Mongols set up military jurisdiction at various levels, such as wanhu, Qianhu, Baihu, etc., in the areas directly under the central government of Dali. After stabilizing the situation of Dali, they turned to attack the Southern Song Dynasty; in the eleventh year of the Yuan Dynasty (1274), the Yuan Dynasty (the former great Mongolia) set up Yunnan and other places in Dali, and then cut off wanhu and Qianhu In addition, it has established administrative regions at all levels, such as roads, prefectures, prefectures, and counties;
In the 25th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1288), the yuan Army established Yuanjiang road in the compass, Malong, Buri, Simo, luochou, Luotuo, Buteng, Bujie, Taiwei, Taiyang, Shiqi and Youtuo in the southern part of Chu house in Dali state power; in the 5th year of Dade (1301), malontalangdian was established in Malong, Shiqi and Youtuo; today, Mojiang County belongs to malontalangdian in Yuanjiang road.
In the 15th year of Hongwu (1382) of the Ming Dynasty, the forces of the Yuan Dynasty that defeated Yunnan set up the commanding Department of the capital of Yunnan (military organization) and the commanding Department of Chengbao (administrative organization) of Yunnan. In the 4th year of Yongle (1406), Yuanjiang government was changed into Yuanjiang military and civilian government, and the Chief Department of Jilong talangdian was set up as Xinhua Prefecture and gongshun Prefecture. Today, Mojiang County belongs to gongshun Prefecture, Yuanjiang military and civilian government.
In the 16th year of Shunzhi (1659) of the Qing Dynasty, Yuanjiang Junmin mansion was still set up; in the 10th year of Yongzheng (1732), Qujing mansion was ordered to pass judgment and moved to Talang village of Yuanjiang Junmin mansion to set up Talang hall; today, Mojiang County belongs to Talang Hall of Yuanjiang Junmin mansion. In the 35th year of Qianlong (1770), Yuanjiang Prefecture was reduced to Yuanjiang Prefecture, where the local garrison in the Confucian forest and the local commander in chief in dingnanli were incorporated into Talang hall and put under Pu'er prefecture (located to the west of Lancang River in xuanweisi of Chenli). Today, Mojiang County belongs to Talang Hall of Pu'er Prefecture.
In 1913, the government of the Republic of China cut off Talang hall. The rulinlitu garrison of the former Talang hall was assigned to Yuanjiang County, the west of Bianjiang to Ning'er County, and Talang county was set up in other areas;
In 1915, Talang county was changed into Mojiang County, and in 1916, the southern territory of Mojiang County was set up under the jurisdiction of the Executive Committee. In August 1949, the government led by the Communist Party established the provisional people's Government in Mojiang County.
In July 1979, Mojiang County was changed into Mojiang Hani Autonomous County.

Qing Dynasty
In the Qing Dynasty, Talang hall had jurisdiction over Sanli and Banjia. Sanli was Dingnan Li, Dehua Li, Shanzheng Li, and Banjia was Confucianism. Rulinli is now Jiulian Town, Lianhe Township and Bixi Township, dingnanli is now Xin'an, Mengnong, Jingxing and Shuanglong Township, dehuali is now Yayi and Longba Township, shanzhengli is now Yutang, Longtan, Wenwu, Baliu, Naha and Sinanjiang township.
The Republic of China
In the early period of the Republic of China, Mojiang County was divided into six townships and one administrative region, namely Chengzhong District, Dehua Township, Dingnan Township, Depu Township, Shanzheng Township, Shanhua Township, Yong'an Township and other administrative regions (the northern part of Jiangcheng County). Dehua Township governs 9 villages of bishuo, xiaomenglian, Nanbei, Shuigui, kunyong, Xuli, laibeng, manpo and Zimu; Dingnan Township governs 7 villages of Baitu, nahan, Banghong, Buyan, damenglian, Sunan and Guma; Depu Township governs 5 villages of dititang street, Nanyang, Lusi, banyafang and yanzijiao; Shanzheng Township governs 4 villages of Yanba, Shitouzhai, Yayi and nanwen; Shanhua Township governs Shitou, Kema, Longtan and yanzijiao Bingli, Huashan 5 villages, Yongan Township jurisdiction shouni, laolizhai, Zhujie, Yami, Sanleng, Lianzhu, zuolongshan, Yalong, yangbazhai, Xiqi 10 villages.
In 1932, the officials and gentry of Mojiang and Jiangcheng counties ended their four-year dispute over the demarcation of the border and designated the area south of Lixianjiang as Jiangcheng County. Mojiang County has seven districts (all named after ordinal numbers), 71 townships and 8 towns, 530 Lu and 2065 neighbors.
In 1938, Baojia was replaced by Liulin. Seven districts were set up in Mojiang Hani Autonomous County. The original 71 townships and 8 towns were reduced to 9 townships and 5 towns, with 105 townships and 1038 townships. The first district governs Lianzhu town and Yiyong Township, the second district governs Bixi town and Wolong Township, the third district governs Dingnan Township and Baihe Township, the Fourth District governs Jingxing Township and Qingyun Township, the Fifth District governs Qingyun Township and Xinhua Township, the Sixth District governs Fuxing Township and Guangfeng Township, and the seventh district governs Yayi Township and Longba township.
In 1939, Baojia was reorganized. Mojiang Hani Autonomous County has seven townships of Bailian, Lianyi, Huilong, Longtan, Baliu, Yayi and Longba, and three towns of Lianzhu, Bixi and Jingxing, with 102 Bao and 932a.
In 1948, the number of Baojia was adjusted to 79 and 493 until January 1949.
The People's Republic of China
On August 3, 1949, the provisional people's Government of Mojiang County was established. Lianzhu district was established by the former administrative region of Lianzhu Town, Bixi district by the former administrative region of Bixi Town, Jinghui district by the former administrative region of Jingxing town and Huilong Township, and Bailian District, Lianyi District, Longtan District, Yayi Township, Baliu Township and Longba Township by the former administrative region of Bailian Township, Lianyi District, Longtan District, Yayi district and Bayi district Slip area, Longba area. By May 1950, Mojiang Hani Autonomous County had built 9 districts, 91 administrative villages and 4 administrative streets.
In 1956, Jiulian town was established in Lianzhu District, 8 districts and 1 town in Mojiang Hani Autonomous County, 8 districts and 90 townships, and Jiulian town 2 blocks.
In March 1958, Pu'er county was designated as the customs clearance area. In October, the movement of "people's commune" was launched. By the end of the year, Mojiang Hani Autonomous County had built nine "people's communes" with one town, 40 administrative regions, 149 brigades, and two neighborhood committees.
In 1959, Xinfu commune was designated from Zhenyuan County. There are 10 communes and one town in Mojiang Hani Autonomous County
