Shidian County, a county under the jurisdiction of Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, is located in the western border of Yunnan Province, the East Bank of Nujiang River and the south of Baoshan City. It is located between 98 ° 54 ′ - 99 ° 21 ′ E and 24 ° 16 ′ - 25 ° 00 ′ n, bordering Changning County on the east by KUKE River, Lincang City on the south by mengboluo River, Longling County on the west by Nujiang River and Longyang District on the north. The county is 60km away from Baoshan Municipal government and 654km away from Kunming, the provincial capital.
By the end of 2015, Shidian County had a total population of 344418 and a total area of 2009 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 5 towns and 8 townships, and the county government is located in dianyang town.
Shidian County has a low latitude mountain monsoon climate dominated by the middle subtropical zone, with an annual average temperature of 17.6 ℃. The terrain of the territory belongs to the mountain canyon area at the tail of Nu mountain. The terrain is generally high in the north and low in the south. The River belongs to Nu River system.
Shidian County was first built in the Western Han Dynasty. There are many tourist attractions in Shidian, such as the Anti Japanese Jiangfang relics in western Yunnan, Huitong bridge and so on. In 2016, the county's GDP reached 5.6 billion yuan, an increase of 12%, and the per capita disposable income of rural and urban residents reached 8705 yuan and 23973 yuan respectively. On February 2, 2019, it was rated as the county-level advanced unit of Chinese medicine by the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine. On May 17, 2020, it will officially withdraw from the poverty-stricken counties. On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the National Health township (county) naming list of 2017-2019 cycle.
Evolution of organizational system
In wanrengang, north of xiaohanzhuang, Suanyuan village, Yaoguan Township, the southern part of the county, a complete skull fossil of Homo sapiens, named Yaoguan, was found. According to the identification and research of relevant experts, it is about 8000 years ago. Many Paleolithic and Neolithic sites have been found in the county from east to west and from south to north, and a large number of stone tools, pottery pieces and animal bones have been unearthed. It shows that about 3500-4000 years ago, ancient human activities were frequent, and ancestors of all ethnic groups worked, lived and multiplied on this land. Bronzes from the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period to the Eastern Han Dynasty have been unearthed in Yaoguan, showing the scenes of people engaged in primitive agriculture, animal husbandry and hunting more than 2000 years ago.
Xia, Shang, Zhou and the spring and Autumn Period belong to Ailao tribe. In the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Ailao state (now Dehong, Baoshan and Lincang).
In the second year of Yuanfeng (109 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, Buwei county was established, and today Shidian (also known as today's Longyang District) belongs to Yizhou county.
In the 10th year of Yongping in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 67), the Western Duwei of Yizhou was set up, which governed six counties, namely Buwei, tired Tang, Bisu, Yeyu, evil dragon and Yunnan. In the 12th year of Yongping (AD 69), Yongchang County was established, and Bonan and Ailao counties were newly established. Yongchang County had jurisdiction over 8 counties, including Buwei.
During the Shu Han period, Yongchang County led five counties, including Tang, Buwei, Bonan, Ailao and Bisu.
In the fourth year of Yuankang in the Western Jin Dynasty (294), the county government moved to the south. In the last year of Yuankang (299), Yongshou (now Gengma) moved southward.
From the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the Southern Dynasties, Yunnan and Guizhou were collectively called ningzhou, and the county was subordinate to Yongchang County of ningzhou. In the Northern Dynasty (QI), it was named Bujian county and subordinate to Yongchang County.
In the Sui Dynasty, there was the general manager's office of Nanning Prefecture in Yunnan, which was under the jurisdiction of PU. In the Tang Dynasty, Nanzhao was under the jurisdiction of Yongchang Jiedu. After the demise of Nanzhao, it was under the jurisdiction of dachanghe state and still belonged to Yongchang Jiedu. During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, it was under the jurisdiction of Yongchang Prefecture of Dali government.
In the Song Dynasty, Dali was under the jurisdiction of Yongchang Prefecture.
From the Yuan Dynasty to the 11th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1274), Yunnan Province of letters in Xingzhong was established, and the county was under the jurisdiction of zhenkang Road, Jinchi xuanweisi, Dali.
In the 15th year of Hongwu (1382) of the Ming Dynasty, Yunnan buzhengsi was set up, following the yuan system. In May of the 17th year (1384), it was renamed Shidian, where it was transferred to Yongchang Prefecture. In 1387, there were 100 households in laoyaozhai. In 1388, Shidian inspection department was set up. In 1390, it belonged to the Department of military and civil affairs. Yongle five years (1407), set up papaya nut hundred households. The first year of Jiajing (1522) belongs to Yongchang Prefecture. Wanli thirteen years (1585), built town Yao City, set up town Yao Shouyu thousand households.
In the sixth year of Shunzhi (1649, the third year of Yongli in the Southern Ming Dynasty), the Yi state was set up and the Dashiqiao state was set up. In the 12th year of Shunzhi (1655, the ninth year of Yongli of the Southern Ming Dynasty), the State Department moved from Dashiqiao to Shidian when it built the state city (now the East Hexi of Shidian Street). In the beginning, it was called "eight rural areas". Shunzhi eighteen years (1661), abolished, into Baoshan county. In the fifth year of Kangxi (1666), Yao Shouyu's office was abolished. Qianlong 35 years (1770), set up Yongchang Fu Fenfang Shidian inspection hall, under Yongchang Fu.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the inspection department and the inspection department were abolished, and Shidian was set up to divide the county and set up the county assistant office. When it was subordinate to Baoshan County, Shidian was called the rural land and divided into districts and townships.
In 1932, Baoshan county was divided into two counties.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, on January 5, 1950, the people's Government of Baoshan county was established, and the county was peacefully liberated. Shidian set up 4, 5 and 6 districts, which governed townships, towns and Baotou. In October of the same year, it was changed into an administrative village under the jurisdiction of the district.
In 1952, it was changed into a township under the jurisdiction of the district.
In May 1953, the third district (now Taiping, etc.) and the seventh district (now Jiufang, old city) were added, with a total of five districts, governing two towns and 94 townships.
In 1958, Shidian people's commune was set up, with 43 administrative areas under its jurisdiction. In 1959, Shidian district was set up, with 38 brigades under its jurisdiction.
In 1961, there were 5 districts, 22 secondary communes and 176 brigades.
On December 1, 1962, with the approval of the 123rd meeting of the State Council, Shidian County was established, with jurisdiction over Taiping, Youwang, Shidian, Yaoguan, Jiufang, 50 second level communes and 43 third level communes.
On February 1, 1963, the Shidian County Committee and the people's Committee of Shidian County of the Communist Party of China were officially put into office, under the jurisdiction of Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. On December 29 of the same year, it was transferred to Baoshan District Administrative Commissioner's office.
On December 30, 2000, it was transferred to Baoshan City.

The terrain of Shidian County belongs to the mountain gorge area at the tail of Nu mountain. The terrain is generally high in the north and low in the south, surrounded by rivers on three sides, with two mountains and one dam. High mountains and hills crisscross, with large altitude difference. The highest altitude of Dashui Hetou mountain, the main peak of the four mountains in the northeast, is 2895.4 meters, and the lowest altitude of Sanjiangkou in the southwest is 560 meters. The main part of the mountain ranges runs from north to south, and the mountain ranges on the East Bank of Nujiang River are divided into two parts: one part extends from north to south, which is composed of Daqing Mountain, Maitreya mountain, laokan mountain, Dongjia mountain and wuliao mountain; the other part extends from south to North, which is composed of mulianhua mountain, Daliang Mountain, Dajian mountain and Xiangshan mountain.

There are 69 rivers in the county. It has a total length of 586.6 km, a total runoff of 738 million cubic meters and an annual water output of 2.18 billion cubic meters. At present, 2.6% of them can be controlled and utilized. It belongs to Nujiang River system. There are Nujiang River, mengboluo River, Shidian River, Yaoguan River and Taiping River.
Nujiang River, surrounded by the deep valley in the west of the county, flows through the territory for about 126 kilometers. The annual transit water volume is 52.606 billion cubic meters, which has not been developed and utilized.
Mengboluo River, the upper reaches of which is KUKE River, enters from laobawo and joins with Kanghe River in Yongde town. Within the territory, the flow is 12.2 km and flows into Nujiang River through old city Canyon to Sanjiangkou.
Shidian River, the ancient name of Yinchuan river. Yingwo mountain, which originates from the south end of shidianba, runs through shidianba from south to north, turns southwest from wangtianshengqiao to yujiliang mountain foot Yuba, and flows into Nujiang River. The flow is 54.5 km, which is the main drainage and irrigation channel of shidianba.
Yaoguan River, originated in laoheilong area of jici'ao, Bailang Township, has a total length of 29.3 km. It flows from north to south to heweiguan wind bridge, turns to east via paxu, and flows into WanDian River, with an annual runoff of 113 million cubic meters.
Taiping River, originated from Bijia mountain in manglin village, flows 10 kilometers from south to north, and flows into Nujiang River after passing qimulin village, Hetao Township, Baoshan City.
