Jianyang, a county-level city directly under the central government of Sichuan Province, is managed by Chengdu. Located in the west of Sichuan Basin, the eastern foot of Longquan and the middle reaches of Tuojiang River, it is 48 km away from Chengdu and 220 km away from Chongqing. It is adjacent to Longquanyi District and Jintang County in the north, Shuangliu district and Renshou County in Meishan City in the west, Yanjiang district and Lezhi county in Ziyang City in the southeast. Jianyang is known as "Tianfu Xiongzhou" and has been known as "the east gate of Shu capital" since ancient times.
With an area of 2213.5 square kilometers, Jianyang City has 16 streets and 21 towns (9 streets and 6 towns are entrusted by the new Eastern District of Chengdu), with a total of 853 villages (communities). History of construction
Jianyang was the land of Shu in ancient times, and belonged to Shu County in Qin Dynasty.
In the sixth year of the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty (135 BC), niuxuan county was established.

In the Eastern Jin Dynasty (310-420), it was still called niuxuan County, which was under the jurisdiction of Shu County in Yizhou (the county ruled Chengdu today).
In 555, the second year of emperor Gong of the Western Wei Dynasty, niuxuan county was changed into Wukang county and Jinyuan county. Wukang County governs Yangan county and poyun County, Jinyuan County governs Jinyuan county and baimou County, which is part of Xindu county. In the Northern Zhou Dynasty (557-581), Jinyuan county was withdrawn, and baimou county was merged into Jinyuan county and changed into Wukang county. Wukang county has three counties: Yang'an, poyun and Jinyuan.
In 583, Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty abolished Wukang County, which was under the jurisdiction of Yizhou. In the 18th year of kaihuang (598), porun county was changed into Pingquan County. In the third year of Renshou (603), Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty set up Jianzhou, which was under the jurisdiction of the governor of Yizhou. It governed three counties, namely Yang'an, Pingquan and Ziyang. In the second year of Daye (606), Yang'an and Pingquan counties were also Shu counties, and Ziyang County was subordinate to Zizhou.
In 620, Yizhou was restored to Jianzhou. In order to avoid Li Yuan's taboo, Jinyuan county was changed into Jinshui county. Jianzhou governs Yangan, Pingquan and Jinshui counties, belonging to Jiannan road. In the first year of Tianbao (742), Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty changed Jianzhou into Yang'an County, and in the first year of Qianyuan (758), Emperor suzong of Tang Dynasty changed Jianzhou into Jianzhou again.
In the fifth year of Qiande of Song Dynasty (967), Huaian army was established in Jinshui County, and Jianzhou was designated. Jianzhou governs Yangan and Pingquan counties, which are under the jurisdiction of Chengdu Fu Road. In the third year of Chunyou (1243) of the Southern Song Dynasty, Zizhou and Panshi county (now Zizhong County), Ziyang County, Neijiang county and Longshui County of Tongchuan Fu Road were abandoned and merged into Jianzhou.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Jianzhou belonged to the province of xingzhongshu in Sichuan. In the early Yuan Dynasty, Pingquan County was merged into Yangan county. In the 20th year of the Yuan Dynasty, guoyangan County entered the state. In the 22nd year of the Yuan Dynasty (1285), Lingquan county (now Longquanyi District) was designated as Jianzhou. At that time, Jianzhou governed Lingquan county and belonged to Chengdu Road. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Jianzhou was restored to Zizhou.
In the sixth year of Hongwu (1373), Emperor Taizu of Ming Dynasty, Jianzhou was reduced to Jianxian. In 1377, Ziyang County was removed and merged into Jianxian county. In 1465, Chenghua county was restored. In the eighth year of Zhengde (1513) of emperor Wuzong of Ming Dynasty, Jianzhou county was upgraded to Jianzhou, which was subordinate to Chengdu Prefecture, and Ziyang County returned to Jianzhou. Lezhi county was changed to Jianzhou in 1514, and Tongchuan in 1522.
In 1727, Ziyang County was designated Jianzhou. Jianzhou is a scattered state, not governing counties, but under the jurisdiction of Chengdu government. At that time, Chengdu government led three states and thirteen counties.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Jianyang county was named after Jianzhou and Yang'an. During the period of Beiyang, xianzuo was stationed in Longquanyi.
In 1935, Jianyang county was a first-class County, belonging to the second administrative supervision district of Sichuan Province.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, in 1953, the administrative district of southern Sichuan was abolished, and Jianyang county was under the office of Neijiang administrative Commissioner of Sichuan Province.
In 1959, 18 townships of Longquanyi District in Jianyang county and 4 townships of Damian, Honghe, Xihe and Qinglong in Huayang County planned to build Longquanyi District in Chengdu.
In 1994, with the approval of the State Council, Jianyang City was established as a county-level city under the provincial jurisdiction, which was managed by Neijiang City at the prefecture level.
In February 1998, Jianyang City was replaced by Ziyang City (District).
In May 2016, with the approval of the State Council and Sichuan Provincial People's government, Jianyang City was entrusted by Chengdu City.

In 1976, nine communes in Luodai District of Jianyang county were included in Longquanyi District.
On October 2, 2014, the State Council approved the establishment of Sichuan Tianfu new area. 191 square kilometers of Jianyang City has been included in the Tianfu new area planning. It involves five townships of laojunjing, Wuzhi, wumiao, Danjing and Xinmin in Jianyang City.
On November 16, 2015, the general office of Sichuan provincial government issued the "Reply of Sichuan Provincial People's Government on the master plan of Sichuan Tianfu New Area", which agreed with the master plan of Sichuan Tianfu New Area (2010-2030) (2015 Edition) in principle. The newly added coordination and control area covers 14 townships close to Tianfu new area, namely, dongjiageng, Sancha, Yucheng, Gaoming, Tankang, Jiajia, Shipan, Yangma, caochi, shibandeng, Lujia, Jiangyuan, Futian and Qingfeng.
On March 28, 2017, Chengdu Planning Bureau disclosed the master concept plan of Longquanshan urban forest park for the first time. The planning covers 8 townships, including laojunjing Township, Wuzhi Township, wumiao Township, Jiajia Township, Zhou Township, Shipan Township, Gaoming Township and Lingxian Township, with a total area of 238.65 square kilometers.
On April 1, 2017, in order to speed up the construction of Chengdu Tianfu airport new town and promote the coordinated development of Chengdu high tech Zone and Jianyang City, 12 townships (4 towns and 8 townships) including caochi Town, Sancha Town, Lujia Town, shibandeng Town, Danjing Township, Yucheng Township, Xinmin Township, Futian Township, dongjiageng Township, Qingfeng Township, Tankang Township and Hailuo Township were entrusted by Chengdu municipal Party committee and government Chengdu high tech Zone, with an area of 483 square kilometers. The CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and Chengdu Municipal People's Government authorize the Party Working Committee and Management Committee of Chengdu high tech Zone to manage the party affairs, economic, administrative and social affairs of the entrusted area. The National People's Congress, the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and the military are still under the jurisdiction of Jianyang City.
In August 2017, Jianzhou new city was established. It covers 7 townships including Chadian town (3 administrative villages), Shipan town (20 administrative villages), Yangma town (16 administrative villages), Shiqiao Town (4 administrative villages), zhoujiaxiang town (17 administrative villages), Zhuangxi town (8 administrative villages) and Lingxian town (8 administrative villages) in Longquanyi District, with a total planning area of 223 square kilometers. Among them, the planned construction land area is 100 square kilometers, including Yangma Town, Shipan Town, Zhou hometown, Lingxian Township and other four towns. In September 2018, the financial revenue and expenditure within the 100 square kilometers of Jianzhou new city's urban planning is managed by Longquanyi District (Chengdu Economic Development Zone), and the financial and tax revenue, GDP and other economic assessment indicators are divided into 5:5 by Longquanyi District and Jianyang City.
On January 22, 2018, the Chengdu municipal government approved the addition of sub district office signs in Sancha Town, Lujia Town, shibandeng town and caochi town of Chengdu high tech Zone with chengfuhan No.1 document.
On February 27, 2018, Chengdu municipal government approved to add the sign of sub district office in 8 townships including dongjiageng township of Chengdu high tech Zone with Chengfu Letter No. 21.
On April 28, 2020, Sichuan provincial government approved the establishment of Chengdu East New Area with CFH [2020] No. 84 document. The planning area of the new area is 729 square kilometers, and the spatial scope includes all administrative regions of 13 towns (streets) under the jurisdiction of Jianyang City, including Hailuo Town, Lujia Town, dongjiageng Town, Zhuangxi Town, Yucheng street, caochi street, shibandeng street, Futian street, Yangma street, Shipan street, and some administrative regions of Gaoming Town, Sancha street and Jiajia street Area.
On May 6, 2020, the overall plan for the eastern New District of Chengdu was published. The eastern New District of Chengdu covers 920 square kilometers, and its management scope consists of two parts: one part includes the administrative areas of 13 towns (streets) under the jurisdiction of Jianyang City, namely Hailuo Town, Lujia town, dongjiageng Town, Zhuangxi Town, Yucheng street, caochi street, shibandeng street, Futian street, Yangma street, Shiban street The total administrative area of Pan street and some administrative areas of Gaoming Town, Sancha street and Jiajia street, covering an area of 729 square kilometers; the other part includes 191 square kilometers of Jianyang District of Tianfu New District (including Danjing street and Sancha Street within the scope of airport new town, and wumiao town and Gaoming town and Jiajia street under the management of Jianyang City) Entrusted to Chengdu Eastern New Area for centralized and unified management.
In May 2020, the construction task of Chengdu Tianfu airport new town undertaken by Chengdu high tech Zone will come to an end temporarily. Chengdu Jianzhou new town is under the management of the eastern New District. The eastern New District of Chengdu, Chengdu high tech Zone, Longquanyi District and Jianyang City have established a joint conference leading group and nine joint conference working groups respectively. More than 200 coordination meetings have been held in a month, and all the handover matters have been completed.
