Pingnan County Pingnan County, formerly known as Gongzhou, is located in the upper reaches of Xijiang River, between 23 ° 2 ′ 19 ″ - 24 ° 2 ′ 19 ″ N and 110 ° 3 ′ 54 ″ - 110 ° 39 ′ 42 ″ e. it is located in low latitude, with tropic of cancer crossing the middle of the county and ocean in the south. On December 13, 2018, Pingnan County was selected into the list of agricultural products advantage areas with Chinese characteristics. Evolution of organizational system
In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty, Pingnan belongs to Guilin county.
In the Western Han Dynasty, the Pingnan part belonged to Mengling County, which belonged to Cangwu county (Guangxin, now Cangwu). Some of them belong to Bushan county.
During the Three Kingdoms period, it was still attached to Cangwu County, Mengling county and Bushan County of Yulin County.
In the fifth year of Shengping in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (361 AD), Cangwu county was set up as Yongping County (Anyi County, now Teng County); Mengling county was set up as Wucheng County, now Wulin Town, under Yongping County. This is the earliest County in Pingnan.
In the second year of Yuanjia in Song Dynasty, Wucheng county was renamed Wulin County, which belonged to Yongping County (Qi Liang and Chen Yinzhi). In Sui Dynasty, it still belonged to Yongping County. In the 19th year of kaihuang (599), Yongping County added suijian county (now Pingnan Dazhong).
In the early Tang Dynasty, Yongping County was abandoned and Tengzhou was established. Wulin and Sui Jian counties were subordinate to Tengzhou. In the third year of Zhenguan (629), Yanzhou was set up (governing the present Wulin), which was under the jurisdiction of Wulin and suijian, as well as Qinchuan county (Taichuan County in Dayuan Yitong Zhi). In the seventh year of Zhenguan (633), he moved to Yanzhou and went to Ningfeng (now Tengxian county) to change his name to Taizhou. He divided Wulin and Qinchuan into Xunzhou. In the same year, he set up the governor's office of Gongzhou in Wulin, where he was the former governor of Yanzhou, and supervised Gong, Xun, Meng, bin, Cheng, Yan and Teng. It was divided into Wulin county and Nanping County. Later, it was changed to Pingnan, and now it is Pingnan town. According to the old records, the name of Pingnan was named as follows: first, it was taokan of Jin Dynasty who pacified Jiaonan and granted the Marquis of Pingnan; second, it was named after the mountains in the county, which meandered from shehuangling and opened to the South; third, it was named Pingnan County after Nanping and Xiping. The explanation of the name of Jinxian county (Volume 5) was named Pingnan County because the county was in the south of Yongping County
South. In the first year of Tianbao (742), Gongzhou was renamed Linjiang county. In the first year of Qianyuan Dynasty (758), Gongzhou was renamed as Gongzhou. It led five counties, namely Pingnan, Wulin, suijian, Datong and Yangchuan, and was subordinate to Lingnan road.
In the Five Dynasties, Pingnan belonged to the Southern Han Dynasty.
In 972, Wulin, suijian, Datong and Yangchuan entered Pingnan. In the second year of song Jiayou (1057), Wulang county (Malian, Guoan and Sihe in the north of the county) was merged into Pingnan County, which was still under the jurisdiction of Gongzhou. In 1136, Gongzhou was abolished and Pingnan County was under the jurisdiction of Xunzhou.
During the Yuan Dynasty (1206-1368), Pingnan County belonged to Xunzhou road.
In Ming Dynasty, Pingnan was subordinate to Xunzhou.
In the Qing Dynasty, Pingnan County was still the capital of Xunzhou. In 1744, Xunzhou government was changed to Youjiang road. In August of the sixth year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1856), Dacheng army occupied Pingnan and was renamed Wucheng County, which was under the jurisdiction of Dacheng state (Xiujing, now Guiping), and in October of the eleventh year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1861), Dacheng state was destroyed, Pingnan returned to the rule of the Qing Dynasty, and Wucheng county was renamed Pingnan County. In 1913, Pingnan County was under the jurisdiction of Yujiang road.
In the third year of the Republic of China, Cangwu Road was changed.
In the 15th year of the Republic of China (1926), the road was abandoned and divided into districts. Pingnan was subordinate to Wuzhou district (the district governs Wuzhou today).
On December 3, 1949, Pingnan County was liberated. In January 1950, Pingnan County was subordinate to Wuzhou district. In July 1951, Wuzhou district and Yulin district were merged into Rongxian District, and Pingnan County was subordinate to Rongxian district. In May 1952, Pingnan County assigned Luoyun, luoxiang, Pingzhu and Naping to Dayaoshan Yao Autonomous Region, and allocated Litian, the former Tonghe Township, to Teng County. In July 1958, Pingle district and Rongxian district were abolished, and Wuzhou district and Yulin district were established respectively. Pingnan County belongs to Yulin district. In 1971, Yulin district was renamed Yulin area, Pingnan County belongs to Yulin area. On October 27, 1995, the State Council approved that Guigang City was upgraded to prefecture level city, and Pingnan County was changed to Guigang City.
In 2000, Pingnan County covers an area of 2998 square kilometers and has a population of about 1.15 million.
