Macheng Macheng, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hubei Province, is managed by Huanggang City. It is located in the northeast of Hubei Province, the north of Huanggang City, the south foot of the middle Dabie Mountains on the North Bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, and the junction of Hubei, Henan and Anhui provinces. It is an important part of Wuhan city circle. The total area is 3747 square kilometers. Macheng landform is horseshoe shaped, with high mountains in the East and northeast, low in the southwest, inclined and open from east to southwest; it belongs to subtropical continental humid monsoon climate and Jianghuai microclimate zone. It has four distinct seasons, sufficient light, abundant heat, abundant precipitation and long frost free period. In ancient times, there were "three platforms and eight sceneries". In modern times, there are Guifeng mountain scenic spot, Macheng Xiaogan Cultural Park and other scenic spots.
Macheng has a long history and got its name from Magu, the "longevity Fairy"; Macheng county was established in the 18th year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (598 A.D.), and the county was removed to establish a city in 1986. Macheng is a famous old revolutionary base, one of the birthplaces of the "jute uprising", the founding place of the fourth and 28th Red Army, the famous Soviet Area, and an important base during the Anti Japanese War and the liberation war. Historical evolution
Macheng has a long history. Many cultural relics unearthed in Macheng prove that people lived in JuShui river basin before 6000 A.D. During the Xia and Shang Dynasties, Xiaofang state, which was controlled by the Shang Dynasty, became a dependency of the yellow state after the 11th century BC.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to Chu.
Qin destroyed the six states and prospered the counties, which first belonged to Nanjun and then to Hengshan.
During the Han Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of Xiling, which belonged to Jiangxia county.
The Three Kingdoms, first Wei Yiyang County, then Wu Qichun county.
The Three Kingdoms belong to Jin Dynasty. Return to Yiyang County. Later, it was transferred to Xiyang County. In the fourth year of Xiankang in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (338 A.D.), Ma Qiu, a general of the Zhao Dynasty, was ordered to build a city in the ancient city of Yanhe.
In the northern and Southern Dynasties, the construction of the territory changed frequently, with the names of Zuojun, Changfeng, chiting, Yangcheng, Pengcheng, Qi'an, Xin'an, beixiyang, Qiting, Liangfeng, Hengzhou, etc.
In the first year of Xiangxiang of Zhou Dynasty (579 AD), the Northern Zhou Dynasty conquered a large area north of the Yangtze River and established "juecheng county".
At the beginning of Sui Dynasty, Banzhu county was a prefecture, and Xin'an County was a Huangzhou county. In 598, Xinan county was changed to Macheng County, still belonging to Huangzhou Prefecture. Since then, Macheng, as a county administrative division, has a history of more than 1400 years. In the fifth year of Daye (609), Yongan county was established.
In the third year of Wude (620), Macheng was divided into Yangcheng County and Tingzhou in Macheng in the same year. Wude eight years (625 years) removed Tingzhou, and Yangcheng, Macheng restore the old system, is Huangzhou Dufu. In the third year of Yuanhe (808), it was merged into Huanggang county and restored in the third year of Dazhong (849).
The Five Dynasties inherited the old Tang Dynasty, which successively belonged to Wu, Nan Tang and Hou Zhou.
The Song Dynasty belonged to Huangzhou on Huaixi road. During the Shaoxing period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1131-1162), Macheng was the northern border of the Southern Song Dynasty. In the third year of Duanping, LiZong avoided war and chaos, and the county was once moved to Shizishan (now 40 kilometers east of the city).
After the unification of the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Huangzhou road in Huguang province at first, and then changed to Huaixi road in 1292, and then to Jiangbei Province in Henan Province in the next year. During the Yuan Dynasty, the county government moved back to guchengfan from Shizishan. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, Jiang Ming, a native of the city, built the city in today's place and later became the county seat.
The Jiachen year of Ming Taizu (1364) belongs to Huangzhou Prefecture of Huguang province. Hongwu nine years (1376) belong to Huguang political department, soon changed to Henan. Hongwu 24 years (1391) also belongs to Huguang. In 1643, Zhang Xianzhong led the peasant uprising army to capture Macheng and changed the county name to Changshun Prefecture. In July, Zhang Bu entered Shu and the county name returned.
The Qing Dynasty followed the Ming system and belonged to Huangzhou Prefecture, Hubei Province.
The first year of the Republic of China (1912), the abolition of government, Wuhan huangdedao (later renamed Edong Road, Jianghan Road).
In 1932, it was the fourth administrative supervision district of Hubei Province.
In October 1938, Macheng was occupied. The Kuomintang county government moved to the turtle head river.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), the puppet government set up a county office in Songbu.
In 1944, the KMT county government moved from guitou River to Shanshui Bay in Yanhe River. In 1945, it moved back to the urban area.
Macheng county is an important part of Hubei Henan Anhui Soviet area.
In 1930, Macheng County Soviet government was established in Shunhe, under the jurisdiction of chengma, Shunhe, huangtugang, Futianhe, Sanhe, the border area of the middle Song Dynasty, Taoyuan and other seven district Soviet governments.
During the Anti Japanese War, the Communist Party of Hubei Henan border region carried out activities in the south, West, East and north of the territory, and established the Anti Japanese democratic government in the south of anmen (1942-1945) and the short-term Administrative Committee in the south of anmen (1941.2-1942.2), which was subordinate to the Eastern administrative office of Hubei Henan border region.
In the autumn of 1947, Liu Deng's army went south to the Dabie Mountains. In October, the patriotic government of Madong county was established in Taiziwan, muzidian, under the jurisdiction of nine districts. At the same time, a patriotic and democratic government of Macheng (later called Maxi) county was established in Futian River, under the jurisdiction of five districts. On March 11, 1949, the newly established independent division of Hubei Henan military region conquered Macheng, and the people of Macheng were liberated. The people's democratic government of Macheng county was established in yanjiahe after the merger of Madong county and Maxi county. Soon after that, it went to Macheng county to work under the jurisdiction of 10 district governments. After the founding of new China, Macheng county was subordinate to Huanggang District of Hubei Province (changed to Huanggang District in 1970).
On May 27, 1986, the State Council approved to abolish the system of Macheng county and establish Macheng (county-level city) as the administrative region of the original County, which is still under the jurisdiction of Huanggang District, Hubei Province. On August 1, Macheng was officially established.
In December 1995, Huanggang district was changed into Huanggang City (prefecture level city), and Macheng City was managed by Huanggang City.
On September 6, 1998, Macheng municipal Party committee, people's Congress, government and CPPCC moved from the old urban area to No. 1 Jinqiao Avenue in the new urban area.
