Yancheng district is under the jurisdiction of Luohe City, Henan Province. The central and southern part of Henan province belongs to the plain area in the middle reaches of Dashahe River in Huaihe River Basin. It is located at 113 ° 45 ′ 10 "~ 114 ° 6 ′ 39" E and 33 ° 34 ′ 37 "~ 33 ° 44 ′ 59" n. It borders on Zhaoling District in the East, Zhaoling district and Yuanhui District in the southeast, Shahe River in the south, Wuyang County in the southwest, Linying County in the northwest and North, and Zhaoling District, Linying County, Zhoukou City and Xihua county in the northeast. The total area of the region is 413.1 square kilometers.
In the first half of 2015, the region's GDP reached 8.59 billion yuan, an increase of 8.5% at comparable prices, 0.3% higher than that in 2014, and 0.7% higher than that in the whole city.
Historical evolution
As early as more than 5000 years ago in the Neolithic age, the ancestors have been living in this land, engaged in agricultural production activities.
In 627, the first year of Zhenguan reign of Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty, Zhaoling entered Yancheng County, belonging to Yuzhou (changed to caizhou in 763). In the tenth year of Kaiyuan reign of Emperor Xuanzong (722), you drowned thousands of people. The next year, the county government moved from luojuanshui (today's Shahe River) to the South and to the north, which is the current county site. In September of the ninth year of Yuanhe (814) of Xianzong, Wu Yuanji, a rebel from Huaixi, took over caizhou.
During the Taiping period of the Northern Song Dynasty (976-984), master Qizong of Weishi County toured Yancheng.
In July of the 10th year of Shaoxing, Emperor Gaozong of the Southern Song Dynasty (1140), the Yue family army of the Southern Song Dynasty broke through the martial arts in Wangdian, Wulidian (wuligang village, Sanzhou Township today) and xiaoshangqiao in the north of the city. They forced the Jin soldiers to surrender to Bianjing, and the song army pursued them to Zhuxian Town.
In 1290, in the southeast of the county, it cut off the south flow of Ru River and converged with the river (Shahe River) to the East.
In the second year of emperor Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty (1645), the Minister of internal affairs and Luo Hui, together with Henan governor Luo Xiujin, sent troops to Xiping to destroy Liu Hongqi, Zuo Liangyu's deputy general. Since then, Yancheng was occupied by the Qing army. In 1752, Emperor Qianlong of Gaozong founded Jingwen Academy on the west side of Confucian temple.
In March 1902, the construction of Yancheng station (now Luohe station) on the Beijing Han railway was started, and it was completed in December of the next year. On April 1, 1906, Yancheng station was opened to traffic.
In 1903, Xu Shen's ancestral hall was changed into a hall.
In 1913, it belonged to Yudong Road, Henan Province.
In February 1927, Yancheng County Committee of the Communist Party of China was formally established.
On October 16, 1949, Yancheng and Luohe were set up separately, and the former organizational system of Luohe City was restored.
On December 27, 2004, Luohe city divided Yancheng into three parts, officially named Yancheng district.

The Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to Xin'an and guyibao. In 1929, they belonged to northeast district. In 1947, they belonged to Shangqiao town. In 1948, they belonged to 5 districts of Shabei county and Shabei District of Linying. In 1949, they belonged to Shangqiao district. In 1959, they belonged to Shangqiao commune. In 1963, they were separated from Shangqiao and established Liji district. In 1965, they were withdrawn and established Liji commune In 2011, it was renamed Liji township. On January 6, 2011, Liji township was removed from the township and built into a town.
Heilongtan Township, formerly known as Qinglong Town, has been the distribution center of many merchants since ancient times, known as "flood and drought wharf". Legend has it that there is a green dragon living in the deep pool of the Heilongtan section of Shahe River. It has gone through all kinds of hardships to protect the people on both sides of the Strait and make them live and work in peace and contentment. In order to show gratitude, it has been named "Green Dragon" for more than 1000 years. Heilongtan commune was established in 1958 and the township was changed in 1984.
Peicheng town was built in 1984. It has jurisdiction over 24 administrative villages including Peicheng, Xiaoxu, sanding, Zhongzhou, tiangudong, Dazhang, Luowang, Zhaizi, Douyang, Songgang, Chenggao, Liangzhuang, Mazhuang, Xirui, Dongrui, Suhou, zhonghezhai, Huliu, Panwang, tielu, Nanyang, Zhuzhang, tiandian and poliu. In 1984, the township was set up.
In 1958, shiwulidian commune was established in Longcheng town. In 1984, it was changed into a township. In 1995, it was even better known as Longcheng town. It has jurisdiction over 24 administrative villages, namely shiwulidian, Miaozhao, ninggou, Dalizhuang, Xiaowangzhuang, Huima, ChenWan, heilongwangmiao, Xiaozhao, Lizhuang, mushanyang, Qianhuang, houhuang, Niuwang, Xiliu, Baizhuang, Zhongli, Laozhai, huxiwang, Xuzhuang, chenma, dajunwang, changwan and Liwan.
Shangqiao district was established in 1949, commune was established in 1958, township was changed in 1984, and town was established in 1985. It has jurisdiction over 20 administrative villages including huwan, wangwan, Shangdong, Shangnan, Shangxi, Jinzhuang, Dayan, gouzhang, qianleqiao, dangwan, lijigang, Guolizhuang, Huzhuang, pobian, Dayang, dazhangwan, LIUMENG, Xiaoyang, qianzhen and Houzhen.
Mengmiao town was established in 1984. It has jurisdiction over 30 administrative villages including Bali, Lutang, Hezhuang, pochen, Mengmiao, Zhang Renqing, Sanzhou, guanxu, Pandong, Panxi, Zhangdian, Xuezhao, Yantao, Xiying, laheliu, Wangdian, aihuang, Jiangtang, shenzhao, Duli, Mapo, wuligang, Liuzhuang, Yingzhang, wulimiao, zhuocan, Zhongcun, houzheng and Xinzheng.
Sunzhuang commune was established in 1978 and the township was changed in 1984. It is located in the north central part of Yuanhui district. It has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages: Houzhou, Dongzhuang, zhanghuwei, lipanzhuang, xiaogaozhuang, shicaozhao and Baimiao. In 2004, Sunzhuang Township in Yuanhui district was put under the jurisdiction of Yancheng district. In 2005, Sunzhuang township was abolished and Shabei street was set up, which governs the former administrative region of Sunzhuang Township and the office is located in Huanghe middle road.

The geological structure of Yancheng area belongs to the North China depression, covered with thick Quaternary loose sediments, about 400 meters thick. In the early Pleistocene, it was lacustrine sediments, and delta facies sandbodies developed along the paleoshahe and Gudang river. The lacustrine deposits ended at the end of early Pleistocene, and fluvial alluvium formed in middle, early and late Pleistocene, forming banded sand body and accumulating silt in inter River depression. It is composed of clayey clay and loam, in which fissures are developed and gleys are strong. Since the beginning of the new century, the eastern part of China has been invaded by the Yellow River flood and accumulated alluvium.

Yinghe enters from Houzhen village of Shangqiao Town, flows through Shangqiao Town, Xindian Town, Longcheng town and Mengmiao Town, and the left bank is from Dongmeng village of Liji Town, and the right bank is from Heilong town Poyang village of Tan Township enters Xihua county of Zhoukou City, with a river course of 26 km long and a dike of 50.6 km long, ensuring a flow of 500 m3 / s.
