Fengyang County, a county under the jurisdiction of Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, is located in the northeast of Anhui Province, on the South Bank of the middle reaches of the Huaihe River, and in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration. Historical evolution
The establishment of Fengyang dates back to the Qin and Han Dynasties, with Zhongli County, but the county named Fenghuang mountain began in the early Ming Dynasty. There were two major changes in the construction of Fengyang County in history. Once, at the end of Yuan Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang defeated Zhang Shicheng and went back to Haozhou to change it into Linhao mansion. In the sixth year of Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1374), Zhongli mansion was set up in the emperor's village. In the seventh year of the Ming Dynasty (1374), Zhongli mansion was moved to the Yang of Fenghuang mountain. Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of the Ming Dynasty, gave the mansion the name "Fengyang", which is still in use today. Fengyang was a place of Huaiyi in ancient times. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, Zhongli county was established in the Qin Dynasty, which resulted from the Han and Western Jin Dynasties.
It was renamed Yan County in the Eastern Jin Dynasty and Zhongli County in the Northern Qi Dynasty.
From Tang Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty, Zhongli was governed by Haozhou.
In 1369, Zhongli county was changed into Linhao County, and in 1370, Linhao county was changed into linhuai county.

In 1755, linhuai county was merged into Fengyang County.
In 1911, after the revolution of 1911, Fengyang County was directly under Anhui Province.
Huaisidao was established in 1914, and Daoyin was stationed in Fengyang.
In 1932, Fengyang County was set up as the fourth special district of Anhui Province.
In February 1938, Fengyang County was occupied by Japanese invaders. The traitor Ni Daofu organized the puppet Anhui provincial reform government in Bengbu. Fengyang County was directly under the puppet provincial government, and the puppet Fengyang county government was located in Bengbu. During the Anti Japanese War, the Anti Japanese democratic governments of dingfenghuai County, dingfengjia County, xufengjia county and siwulingfeng County under the leadership of the Communist Party of China were successively established at the border of the county and its neighboring counties, which were abolished after the victory of the Anti Japanese war.
In January 1947, the Ministry of interior of the national government approved the establishment of Bengbu as a city, and Bengbu was separated from Fengyang County.

In January 1956, Chuxian district and Suxian District merged to form Bengbu district. Fengyang county belongs to Bengbu district.
In March 1961, Bengbu district was abolished and Chuxian County Commissioner's office was established again. Fengyang county belongs to Chuxian district.
In January 1993, Chuxian district was abolished and Chuzhou City was established under the provincial jurisdiction. Fengyang county belongs to Chuzhou City.
On January 7, 2021, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, will support Fengyang to change from county to city and establish Fengyang city during the 14th Five Year Plan period.
