Shunyi District, subordinate to Beijing, is located in the northeast of Beijing, 30 kilometers away from the urban area. In the 22nd year of Tang Zhenguan, the Khitan bieshuai Xihe was attached to the Khitan Prefecture, which was originally the Tanhan Prefecture of Khitan songmo prefecture (songmo Prefecture is located in Fuxin and Zhangwu of Liaoning Province). In the first year of Tianbao (742), it was renamed Guihua county. In the first year of Qianyuan (758), it was renamed Guishun Prefecture, which led Huairou County (not related to Huairou District). In December 1368, the first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, Jiangshun Prefecture was Shunyi County, which was under the jurisdiction of Beiping Prefecture and later Shuntian Prefecture.
In October 1914, shuntianfu was changed into Jingzhao special zone. In June 1928, Beijing was renamed Beiping, and Shunyi was directly under Hebei Province. On December 8, 1948, Shunyi County was liberated.
