Xu Gang
Xu Gang (1511-1583) was born in Shiyin village, Cikou Township, Tongshan County, Hubei Province. Ming Jiajing ten years (1531) Zhongju, in 1544 Jinshi, released foreign officials, after promoted to the Ministry of officials to the matter. In 1566, Emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty believed in Taoism and made the officials wear yellow crowns to court. Xu Gang refused to wear the Yellow crown, risked his life to admonish him, and was praised by the government and the opposition for his loyalty. He was tolerant, upright and honest. He had been in politics for 28 years. He was an official to the left and right servants of the Ministry of work. During the Wanli period, he was dissatisfied with being in power. He went back to his hometown and died at home.
Xu Gang, whose birth and death year is unknown, was named Yuquan and Luofeng. He was born in Guozhou (now Cikou, Tongshan County, Hubei Province). Jiajing 23 years (1544) Jinshi, Jiajing 28 years in November from Xi'an government officials into the Li branch to give things, upright.
