Unfortunately, a large number of Buddhist statues and classic historical materials of the two temples were reduced to ashes during the anti superstition movement in 1953. The center temple and Huiji school hall of Yuanji mountain were demolished and rebuilt into Changsha grain depot, leaving only one Buddha Hall of Guangfu temple, which was transformed into a rice mill of grain depot.
history
In the past, there were more than 100 monks in the two temples. Master Yanshan, the abbot of the temple, devoted his whole life to chivalry and justice. He led his disciples to recite sutras in the morning and evening, teach martial arts in the daytime, and lead them to build mountains and fields to help themselves with food and clothing. It is said that Yanshan master is highly skilled in martial arts, and has the skill of flying over eaves and walls, and the method of five elements escaping. One year, at the grand ceremony, he made a large jar of pure water. When the believers looked at it, they saw the lotus flowers in the jar and the fairies dancing. Drink a mouthful of purified water to ensure a safe life without disaster. It is said that he can catch ghosts. Once he played chess with a friend in shuidongwei and came back to the temple too late. The boatman had already gone home to have a rest. He even called for a boat. A water ghost heard him. He wanted to find a replacement to return to the world and carried him across the river. As a result, he was caught by master Yanshan and stepped on the chaff in the temple for three years. These legends are now widely spread among the people.

Yuanjishan Zhongfeng temple is next to yanpi village. It takes only ten minutes to drive from the gate of the temple to the South Gate of the village along the village highway. The scenery on both sides of the river is beautiful, and the scenery in four seasons is charming.
Fangguang cave is at the north gate of the village. After welcoming and seeing off guests, you can see the entrance of Fangguang cave through Yingchou cliff. Then you can climb more than ten steps to enter Fangguang cave. Fangguangdong is more than 20 meters long, 8 meters wide and 3 meters high. There is a small hole at the bottom of the cave. It is said that it is the place where rice is produced. The poor burn a pillar of incense in the cave, and the rice flows out of the hole. Later, he was occupied by a strong man. In order to make a fortune, he chiseled the small hole big. As a result, the chaff came out for three years.
Then take a boat down the river to Xiangbi mountain, Xiangshan Pavilion, Guanyin Pavilion and anvil beach. Elephant trunk mountain is like an elephant. It puts its trunk into the river to drink. The river flows through the elephant's nostril. If you want to watch the river flow down the elephant's nostril, you have to have some courage. Xiangshan Pavilion on Xiangbi mountain is the place where Juzi Zhong yuanxuan wrote poems and painted. Cultural and historical materials have detailed records of this.
Changsha River turns 90 degrees to Guanyinge. Due to the large difference between the upper and lower river beds, the river forms a huge vortex here. During the flood season, the diameter of the vortex reaches more than ten meters, and the thunder like sound can be heard several miles away.
The water depth of Tiezhen beach is unpredictable. According to fishermen, there is a dry stone cave more than three meters below the beach. There are stone tables and chairs in the cave. It is said that there are also gold cups and chopsticks. It is the refuge place of Ming Emperor Zhu Zhaoguang. The rocks on the mountain are jagged and there is a stone coffin. Once upon a time, we used to sacrifice boys and girls every year. Later, a fairy came down to earth and uncovered the coffin cover. After that, we did not sacrifice any more. It's strange that no matter how heavy the rainstorm, no water overflowed out of the coffin. The trees on the beach block out the sky and the sun, which is gloomy and terrible. There are various legends among the people.
With the further implementation of religious policy, the temple has also been restored and repaired. In early April 1994, on the initiative of Zhong Zhaoren and others, a Preparatory Committee for the renovation of Yuanji mountain was set up. With the strong support of the four believers and people from all walks of life, the temple regained its splendor and welcomed the four pilgrims with a new look. Now there is a Council in the temple, with Zhong Zhaoren as its president, Zhong Honda as its financial group, and Zhong Changyou and Zhong Zhaogui as its logistics management group. All kinds of activities in the temple are in good order.
