Xiangyu Park

Xiangyu park is located in Nankai District of Tianjin city, an open leisure park on the east side of Nankai Middle School. Xiangyu Park covers an area of about 29000 square meters, with a three sided ring road. It is adjacent to Nankai 4th Road on the left, Nankai 3rd Road on the right and Nankai Erwei Road on the south.

Named after "Xiangyu" by Zhou Enlai, an outstanding alumnus of Nankai, the park will become the largest open cultural and leisure park on the inner ring road of the city and fully reflect the profound cultural heritage of Nankai Middle School. The completion of the park is a great gift for the coming centennial of Nankai school. It is understood that the design integrating subway, underground shopping mall, parking lot and aboveground park is still in a unique position in China.

Humanity design of green space

Xiangyu park takes green as its theme. Many kinds of green plants and seasonal plants, such as Fatong, gingko, Bauhinia, Cedrus, Albizia, peach and plum trees, are planted in the park, creating a quiet and elegant green ecological space for visitors. The ground part of the park is paved with sesame white granite, and there is a blind lane. There is a double deck parking lot with 207 parking spaces underground, which reflects the humanization of its design.

Pillar sculpture of sunken square

At the southernmost end of Xiangyu Park, there is a "sunken square", which is concave on the ground. As the name suggests, it connects the subway and underground shopping mall below, and leads to Xiangyu park above. It is an important hub connecting the ground and underground parts. From the sunken square to a circular area inside the park, here is the theme square of the park. Here stands the central building of the park - the red pillar sculpture. The sculpture is a deformation of the word "Nankai", which is as tall and straight as a towering tree. It indicates that the students of Nankai Middle School will become the pillars of our country in the future.

Blue pool surrounded by celebrities

The square area next to the theme square is one of the highlights of the park design - skylight. On the ground, there is a blue glass pool, which gives people a quiet and beautiful feeling. Underground is also the skylight of the underground shopping mall. The sunlight shoots through the blue water surface to the ground, which not only meets the visual aesthetic, but also achieves the practical effect. Around the pool are three "celebrities" who have a deep influence on Nankai Middle School: Zhou Enlai, Zhang Boling and Yan fansun. These three bronze statues are exquisitely and vividly made, which embodies the cultural essence of "hundred years of Nankai".

A century old wall tells history

From the blue pool to the north, you will see three walls. This is the Centennial monument of Nankai. The three walls are separated from each other, and the inscription on the tablet is represented by the representatives and characters of Nankai. It records the centenary history of Nankai Middle School, concentrates the essence of Nankai culture and shows it vividly in front of people.
