Rebound pipa

The statue of rebound Pipa is the symbol of Dunhuang city. It is located at the flower bed around the island in the center of the city. Taking the island as the cross center, Dunhuang City disperses the main roads of the city in all directions. The North-South street is named Shazhou Road, and the east-west street is named Yangguan road.

The statue is about 5 meters high, graceful and full-bodied. The female dancer is kind-hearted, with the center of gravity on her right foot, the left leg raised, the pipa back forward behind her, and the palm upward. The statue is based on one of the Dunhuang frescoes, the "rebound Pipa" in the "guanwuliangshoujingbian" in cave 112 of the middle Tang Dynasty. The frescoes, together with Feitian, are the two representative works of Dunhuang music and dance frescoes. It is world-famous and the most beautiful dance in Dunhuang art. In the pure land of the west, it is written that Ji Letian dances with fairy music, raises his feet and spins his body, exerting the instant momentum of "rebound Pipa". She has a leisurely and graceful manner. She holds a lute and flies with her upper body half naked. Her dress is like a dragon and a Phoenix. She is swaying. Her neck ornaments jingle in the flying.
