Xuchang college is a provincial full-time undergraduate college. The school is located in Xuchang City, Henan Province. Xuchang college was founded in August 1942 in Henan Province, the fifth administrative region of LIANLI normal school. In July 1946, Xuchang Normal School of Henan Province was established, and the five regional joint teachers were incorporated into Xuchang normal school. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the school developed healthily. In 1959, it was approved by the State Council as a teacher's college. In 1963, it was adjusted to a secondary teacher's school because of the country's economic difficulties. In 1978, the first batch of teachers' colleges were re established. In March 2002, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of education. In 2014, Xuchang health school was incorporated into Xuchang college. Xuchang health school, founded in 1952, is a national key vocational school and a model secondary vocational school in Henan Province.
