Guangxi Normal University

Guangxi Normal University is a University jointly built by the Ministry of education and the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and a University of "basic capacity construction project of universities in central and Western China". There are three campuses, Wangcheng, Yucai and Yanshan, covering an area of more than 4100 mu. There are 2355 in-service teaching staff, 26831 full-time undergraduates, 6386 master's students, 171 doctoral students, nearly 1600 foreign students of all kinds, and more than 16000 adult education students. After construction and development, it has become a comprehensive university with distinctive characteristics of teacher education, top 100 arts and science disciplines in China, and extensive international exchanges and cooperation.

The school has rich history and culture. Guangxi Provincial Normal College, the predecessor of the college, was founded in 1932. It is the beginning of Higher Normal Education in Guangxi and one of the earliest normal colleges in China. It has been renamed six times, relocated eight times and adjusted four times. During the Anti Japanese War, together with Southwest Normal University and Kunming Normal University, they became three famous normal universities in the rear area of the Anti Japanese War and were known as the "bastion of democracy in Southwest China". From 1943 to 1978, it was the only university in Guangxi to train teachers with bachelor's degree. In 1983, it was renamed Guangxi Normal University. Since its establishment, Yang Dongchun, Xue Muqiao, Chen Wangdao, Ouyang Yuqian, Lin Liru, Chen Hansheng, Xia Zhengnong and a large number of well-known people, experts and scholars have gathered in the school. Adhering to the school motto of "respecting teachers and respecting morality, respecting industry and enjoying the masses", the school has taught and studied, promoted culture and encouraged teaching, and cultivated more than 300000 teachers and other professionals for the country, especially Guangxi. In 2012, when Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and state councilor, inspected the University, he encouraged teachers and students to "build a first-class university with high level and characteristics".

The science and education platform of the school is relatively high. At present, there are 21 teaching colleges (departments), 78 full-time ordinary undergraduate majors, 27 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, 19 professional master's degree authorized points, 6 first-class disciplines authorized by doctor's degree, 3 post doctoral research mobile stations, and 35 key disciplines in Guangxi (universities). In the past five years, the number of scientific research projects and funds have increased significantly, and 2112 scientific research projects have been obtained, including 337 national projects such as national Spark Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China and National Social Science Foundation of China; More than 1250 academic papers have been indexed by SCI and other three indexes, and 17 scientific research achievements have been awarded at or above the provincial level. In the four major projects of NSFC (key, outstanding young, excellent young, major research and development projects of basic instruments), we have achieved zero breakthroughs in succession, and chemistry has become the top 1% discipline in the ESI world. The school culture industry is booming. Guangxi Normal University Press, founded in November 1986, is the first local university press group in China and the first publishing group in Guangxi.
