Hainan Vocational College of industry and commerce is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college registered by the Ministry of education. It is located in the original site of Yangyou college founded by Tang Zhou, one of the four famous cultural villages in Hainan. The predecessor of the college is Hainan Wanhe Information Vocational and technical college founded in 2004. In April 2010, the Ministry of Education approved Hainan Wanhe College of information technology to change its name to "Hainan Vocational College of industry and commerce". In May 2012, Mr. Tang Jie, the successor of Tang Zhou, inherited the "Gengjie, honesty and filial piety" quality emblem of his predecessors, wholly acquired Hainan Vocational College of industry and commerce, and took the post of legal representative and chairman. The college adheres to the school motto of "cultivating excellence", school spirit of "self-improvement and perseverance", teaching style of "establishing morality and advocating education", and learning style of "practicing to learn". It is located in the 10 minute walking circle of Hainan political and cultural center, adjacent to the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee, the National People's Congress and the CPPCC, Hainan Provincial Library, museum, song and dance theater, cultural and Art Center, cultural and Sports Park, sports center, etc. The college has a beautiful campus environment, covering an area of 534.5 mu, a building area of nearly 290000 square meters, a total fixed assets value of 720 million yuan, advanced experimental training rooms, teaching and scientific research equipment value of 87.96 million yuan, a library area of 24900 square meters, a paper collection of 469600 books, and electronic books of 3000gb. In October 2013, the training building with an investment of 84 million yuan and the highest degree of modernization in Hainan Vocational Colleges was completed and put into use.

The college is market-oriented, with engineering majors as the main subject, and features mobile communication technology, 3D printing technology, architectural decoration engineering technology, elderly service and management and hotel management. At present, the college has 6 teaching units of tourism art, international business, architectural engineering, information engineering, applied technology and ocean college, 2 teaching departments of Ideological and political department and public department, and 30 majors, including 3 provincial characteristic majors. In September 2013, Professor Lu Bingheng, academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, professor and doctoral supervisor of Xi'an Jiaotong University, and director of National Engineering Research Center for rapid manufacturing, was employed as the consultant of our institute. Relying on the "National Engineering Research Center for rapid manufacturing" of Xi'an Jiaotong University, we trained high-end professionals in 3D printing technology.

The college has 6433 students, covering 20 provinces (cities) and autonomous regions such as Hainan, Guangdong, Guizhou, Yunnan, Gansu and Heilongjiang.
