Henan Vocational College of industry and trade is an independent higher vocational college set up at the junior college level on the basis of Henan Economic and trade school, approved by the people's Government of Henan Province and registered by the Ministry of education of the people's Republic of China. Founded in 1950, the college has a history of nearly 60 years. The college is located in the urban area of Zhengzhou. It has two campuses in the South and North, covering an area of 513 Mu and a total construction area of 124900 square meters. The North Campus (Yousheng campus) is located at No.4 Yousheng North Road, Zhengzhou City, which is located in the center of Zhengzhou City; the South Campus (Longhu central campus) is located in Longhu economic and Technological Development Zone, Zhengzhou city. Convenient transportation, beautiful environment, campus evergreen trees, green grass, pavilions dotted with small scenery, constitute an elegant educational environment.

At present, the college has 310 faculty members, including 192 full-time teachers, 63 full-time teachers with professional and technical positions above intermediate and senior level, 107 teachers with double qualification, and 52 Teachers with graduate degree or master degree or above. The college also employs 33 experts and scholars, senior technicians or technicians as part-time teachers from scientific research institutes, colleges and universities, enterprises and institutions. Among the full-time teachers in the college, 6 were named as provincial academic and technological leaders, 8 were rated as provincial backbone teachers or provincial excellent teachers, and more than 10 held the posts of president, director, director, deputy director and secretary-general in academic groups above the provincial level. Since 2006, our teachers have undertaken 25 teaching and research projects at the provincial, ministerial and bureau levels, published 294 academic papers in public journals, and published 49 monographs, teaching materials and teaching aids. Among them, three have won provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement awards, and many research achievements have great application value.

The college has 8 full-time teaching units, including Department of food and Bioengineering, Department of mechanical and electrical engineering, Department of computer and science and technology, Department of art and design, Department of accounting, Department of economy and trade, Department of business foreign languages, Department of basic science, and 21 Higher Vocational Majors. As of June 2008, the college has 3411 full-time college students.

At present, the college has built 45 on campus experimental training places, 47 off campus practice bases, 16 multimedia classrooms and voice rooms, 1326 seats, 858 teaching computers, and an office automation system connected with the campus network and the Internet. The college has two standard track and field stadiums, a sufficient number of basketball, volleyball, table tennis, tennis and other sports venues, covering a total area of 43331 square meters. The college has complete teaching, learning, living, sports and sports facilities, which can fully meet the needs of the existing scale.

The college actively implements the open school running strategy at home and abroad, and has successively cooperated with Sichuan University to build the off campus learning center of modern distance education; cooperated with Capital Normal University to establish the teaching point for in-service personnel to study for master's degree in education; cooperated with Nankai University to carry out the promotion of EMBA project in Henan Province. At present, it is actively developing sino foreign cooperative education projects with universities or educational institutions in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and other countries or regions. An open school running pattern based on Henan, facing the whole country and going to the world is taking shape.

Since the establishment of the college, with the approval of the higher authorities, it has set up the national vocational skill appraisal institute, the national special type of work skill training station in the grain industry, the educational technology ability training base for teachers of secondary vocational schools in Henan Province, as well as the "national international business English training certification examination (level I)", "national marketing qualification examination" and "national logistics qualification examination" There are 8 kinds of examination sites and training sites for professional qualification certificate or skill level certificate, such as "national examination", "national registered e-commerce engineer qualification examination", "national computer level examination", "national cartographer qualification examination", "National College English application ability level examination", "national business secretary qualification examination".

The college adheres to the market-oriented setting of majors, Employment Oriented Innovation of education and teaching mode, accurate positioning of training objectives, strong implementation of the education system of diploma and vocational qualification certificate, and increase the practical skills training for students, so that students can obtain the corresponding diploma, vocational qualification and skill level certificate when they graduate. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates of our college has reached more than 97%.
