Tieling teachers college is located in Tieling City, Liaoning Province, which is known as "town of sketch art", "town of Errenzhuan", "town of Red Mansion Culture", "town of sports champion" and "city of coal and electricity energy". It is a full-time ordinary college approved by the Ministry of education.

The school is a combination of the former Tieling Teachers College, Tieling Teachers College and Tieling staff University. Since the founding of Tieling Normal University in 1949, it has gone through 60 years of glorious development, and has provided more than 40000 qualified talents for the society. It has 37 majors and 5631 students. Professor Xu Zhaodong, the current Secretary of the Party committee and President of the University, is a professor.

The campus is adjacent to the beautiful Longshou mountain in the West and the rippling Chaihe River in the north, with beautiful environment and pleasant scenery. At present, the campus covers an area of 192000 square meters, with a building area of 79000 square meters. It has comprehensive laboratories, network multimedia classrooms, etc., with a total value of 16.555 million yuan of teaching and scientific research equipment. The library has a paper collection of 350000 books. It has a campus network connecting the three campuses, and has a complete range of education and teaching facilities such as auditorium and gymnasium.

The school has various forms and rich levels. It has formed a school running pattern of normal education, higher vocational education and adult education. The school has extensive foreign exchanges and close cooperation between schools. In 2005, we successfully set up four undergraduate programs with Liaoning Normal University. All 392 graduates of three terms obtained bachelor's degrees and 12 were admitted to graduate school. We also carried out cooperation projects with irbane University, such as leaders' mutual visits, teachers' exchanges, and selection of international students.

The school aims at specialty and students' specialty, and enrolls students from 18 provinces, cities and autonomous regions. The school pays attention to the training of students' basic skills, and has established 27 practice training bases for Higher Vocational Colleges and 26 practice bases for normal education majors. The school has established a two-level management system. The university undertakes the editing and publishing work of Social Science Edition of Journal of Liaoning Teachers College, and establishes Journal of Tieling Teachers College and Journal of Tieling Teachers College, forming a good atmosphere for teaching and scientific research, with remarkable achievements in teaching and scientific research.
