China Conservatory of music

China Conservatory of music was founded in 1964 on the proposal of Premier Zhou Enlai. She is the only higher music institution in China with Chinese national music education and research as its main characteristics, which cultivates senior professionals engaged in the theoretical research, creation, performance and education of national music, and promotes the inheritance and development of national music culture.

The college now has 10 teaching units, including Department of musicology, Department of composition, Department of vocal music and opera, Department of Chinese national instrumental music, Department of music education, Department of piano, Department of art management, Department of conductor, Department of orchestra and Department of social science. It has three undergraduate majors, including musicology, theory of composition and composition technology, and music performance. It has the right to grant doctor's and master's degrees in musicology and master of Arts (MFA) It has the qualifications of university teachers studying for master's degree and applying for master's degree with the same academic level; musicology is a municipal key discipline; in addition, it has a college of continuing education and an affiliated secondary music college, forming a multi-level school running system characterized by ethnic music education and research.

The college is full of famous teachers and strong teaching and scientific research force. At present, there are 195 full-time teachers in our college, including 53 professors and 63 associate professors; 2 won the national "famous teacher award" and 40 experts enjoying the special allowance of the State Council; 3 won the Wenhua award of the Ministry of culture and 14 won the Golden Bell award of Chinese music.

Over the past 40 years since its establishment, the academy has trained more than 5000 international and domestic well-known music artists, including Wu Yanze, de dema, Peng Liyuan, song Zuying, Yan Weiwen, Zhang Ye, Liu Bin, LV Jihong, Tan Jing and Zu Hai. They have made important contributions to the inheritance, development and promotion of Chinese folk music. The school has 1657 full-time students.

The college has excellent conditions for running a school. All classrooms are multi-media. It has world-class teaching equipment for computer composition, the most advanced recording studio in Asia, more than 200 piano rooms for students, and a large number of world-class pianos and high-quality national musical instruments, which provide a solid foundation for ensuring the quality of teaching and talent training.

Adhering to the principle of open education, the college has established long-term cooperative relations with dozens of art colleges and music institutions in Japan, South Korea, the United States, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Every year, the school employs dozens of foreign experts to give lectures, which plays an important role in promoting the cultural exchange of Chinese and foreign music and promoting national music to the world.
