Hunan Industrial Vocational and technical college is a higher vocational and technical college approved by the Ministry of education in 1999. The college is located in Hanpu science and Education Park, Yuelushan University Town, Changsha City, covering an area of 1031 mu, with a construction area of 336000 square meters, fixed assets of 532 million yuan, original value of teaching equipment of 56.8 million yuan, and a collection of 750000 books. At present, the college has 386 full-time teachers, and 222 front-line technicians have been employed as part-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 135 teachers with senior technical positions above associate professor level, 2 candidates for the new century talent project in Hunan Province, 3 "famous teaching teachers" in Hunan Province, 1 excellent "double qualification" teacher in Hunan Province, 7 young backbone teachers in Hunan Province, and 7 provincial professional leaders. The teacher is responsible for one national excellent course, four provincial excellent courses, five provincial excellent specialties and one provincial teaching team. He has won one first prize, three second prizes, three third prizes and 14 national patents.

The college is the construction unit of National Demonstrative Higher Vocational Colleges. It has six departments, including mechanical engineering department, electrical engineering department, information engineering department, economic management department, modern design art department, business and tourism department. There are 26 full-time higher vocational specialties, including 2 national teaching reform pilot specialties, 1 national excellent specialty construction project, 5 provincial teaching reform pilot specialties, 5 provincial excellent specialties, 1 National Excellent Course and 4 provincial excellent courses. It has enrolled students from 26 provinces, cities and autonomous regions in China, and now has more than 9100 students.
