Fuyang vocational and technical college is a public institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of education and the people's Government of Anhui Province. It is one of the first batch of Demonstration Vocational Colleges in Anhui Province and one hundred national backbone vocational colleges. The school was established in 1956 and approved by the people's Government of Anhui Province as an independent adult college Fuyang Education College in 1981. Higher vocational education started in 1998, which is one of the two earlier Vocational Colleges in Anhui Province. In June 2001, it was renamed Fuyang vocational and technical college. In 2009, Fuyang architecture school was incorporated into the school. In September 2013, Fuyang health school was merged, which injected new vitality into the school's leapfrog development.

The old campus covers an area of 400 mu, with a building area of more than 238000 square meters, teaching equipment worth more than 80 million yuan, 670000 books and 6500gb e-books. 90 professional training rooms and workshops have been built, and 20 productive training bases have been built, including comprehensive accounting training base and gardening training base, with an area of 66932 square meters . The approved national vocational skill appraisal institute has carried out vocational skill appraisal and training for 19 types of middle and senior workers, including CNC lathe workers, CNC milling workers, automobile maintenance workers, flower and horticultural workers, agronomic workers, lathe workers, electricians, home appliance maintenance workers, decorators, computer system operators, etc. The school is also a national CNC training base supported by the central government, a national 3D CAD education and training base, a Microsoft IT certification education base, a talent training base for computer application and software technology shortage, a mechanical and electrical high skilled talent training base, a national computer application technology (NIT project) training base, a poverty alleviation training base of Anhui country garden "rain and dew plan" and an Anhui Education and training base Training base for management cadres.
