[plant morphology] Panax notoginseng
Perennial herbs, 15-35 cm high. The rhizome is round or oval, with brown surface, membranous leaf sheath, fragrant and pungent. Leaves usually 2-3 tufted, long petiole, papery, long elliptic, apex pointed, base narrowly cuneate, glabrous on both sides, upper veins slightly protruding. The flowers are white and yellow.
It is wild in the shade wetland beside the valley; it is also cultivated.
