[plant morphology] 1

Perennial herb, 15-50cm high, light yellow. The root is conic and forked. Stem erect, slender, tufted, many branched, branches with edges. Leaves alternate, linear, 2-5 cm long, 0.2-0.4 cm wide, apex pointed, entire, old leaves 3-lobed. The flower is green white, single leaf axils, many arranged as racemes with leaves; pedicel is about 10 cm long; bracts are 3, one of which is leafy, two are very small; perianth is tubular at the lower part and 5-lobed at the upper part. Nutlets ovoid globose, ca. 2 mm long, with longitudinal striations on the surface. Seed 1, subglobose, light brown yellow.

It grows in grass or under sparse forest on barren slope. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.

Perennial slender herbs, 15-20 cm high. Stem erect, tufted, much branched, pink green, with fine stripes. Leaves alternate, thick, linear, ca. 3 cm long, apex acute, entire, with a midrib. The flower is small, yellowish white, solitary in leaf pus, with a leaflike linear bract under it. Perianth 5-lobed, apex of perianth lobes obtuse, inner surface hairy; style exserted, stigma capitate. Nutlets are spherical. 5 mm in diameter. It blooms in summer.

It grows in the grass on the hillside and under the pine forest. It is distributed in Yunnan.
