[plant morphology] Lantana camara (notes of South Vietnam)
Erect or semi rattan shrub, with strong odor, slightly hairy, 1-2 meters high, often times as high as rattan; stems and branches without thorns or with lower hook thorns. Leaves opposite; ovate or oblong ovate, 3-9 cm long, apex short acuminate, base broadly cuneate, margin obtuse toothed, with short bristles on the top and setae on the bottom. The inflorescence is dense, with corolla 2-3.5 cm wide; the peduncle is axillary, stout, often longer than the leaf; the bracts are narrow and long, about 1 / 3-1 / 2 of the corolla; the Corolla is pink, red, yellow or orange red, about 1 cm long. Corolla simple slender, lobes 4-5; stamens 4, not exposed; ovary 2-locular. Drupe globose, fleshy, about 5 mm long, purple black at maturity, with 2 bony minute nuclei. Flowering period: flowering all year round.
Wild in the village or cut in the garden. Distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan and other places.
