[plant morphology] Corydalis parviflora
Annual herb, odorous, 10-60 cm high. The root is slender. The stem is much branched. Leaf blade triangular in outline, 3-12 cm long, 2-3 pinnately divided, 1-4 pairs of lobes, 2-or 3-lobes ovate or broadly ovate in outline, lobed or deeply lobed, terminal lobes narrowly ovate to broadly ovate, apex obtuse or rounded. Raceme 3-10 cm long; bracts narrowly lanceolate or subulate, 1.5-5 mm long; sepals 2, ovate; corolla 4-petal, yellow, upper petal 6-9 mm long, anterior lip shaped, posterior spur, saccate, 1-2 mm long, lower petal dorsal, anterior part slightly keel protuberant, two lateral pieces apex united; stamen 6, 2-body, filament base with nectary, extending into the spur; pistil 1. Capsule strip, 2-3 cm long, 1.5 mm wide. Seeds black, oblate, ca. 1 mm in diam., densely punctate. The flowering period is from March to May. The fruit period is June.
It grows at the foot of a wall, in a crevice of a stone or in a meadow beside a gully. It is distributed in the middle and lower reaches of the Pearl River Basin and the Yangtze River Basin, and reaches the south of Shaanxi and the southwest of Henan in the north.
