[plant morphology] Murraya
Shrubs or trees, the wood is very hard, 3-8 meters high, bald or tender part is pubescent. Its leaflets vary greatly from ovate, spoon obovate, elliptic to subrhombic, 2-7 cm long and 1-3 cm wide, apex obtuse or obtuse acuminate, sometimes slightly concave, base broad cuneate or cuneate, sometimes slightly oblique, entire. The corymb is short, terminal or in the upper leaf axils, usually with several white flowers, very fragrant, 1.2-1.5 cm long; the calyx is very small, 5-lobed; the petals are 5, separated, imbricate; the stamens are 10, the filaments are weak; the ovary is superior, 2-locular, the style is weak, and the stigma is capitate. Fruit ovoid or globose, fleshy, red, 8-12 mm long, apex acute, with 1-2 seeds. It blooms in autumn.
It grows in the wild and is cultivated. It is distributed in the south of China.

Dry leaves leathery, ovate or elliptic, 2-7 cm long and 1-3 cm wide, yellowish green, base cuneate, entire, main veins prominent on the back. Petiole very short. It's fragrant.

[clinical application] used for local anesthesia and surface anesthesia. The effect of local anesthesia with jiulixiang injection on 100 cases of large and small operations was stable, without adverse reactions, stable blood pressure, pulse and respiration during and after operation, no liver and kidney damage or other complications, no bleeding, edema, necrosis and other phenomena, and the analgesia time was long. 49 cases of subtotal gastrectomy, except 2 cases, no obvious pain. The disadvantage is that the local stimulation is large, the abdominal muscles are tense during abdominal surgery, and it is still difficult for deep surgery. Dosage: for subtotal gastrectomy, 12.5% injection 150-200 ml (incision infiltration) and 6.25% injection 150-200 ml (visceral sealing) are used; for minor operation, tens of ml are used. Anesthesia was produced about 10-20 minutes after injection, and the operation time was up to 3 hours.
