[plant morphology] Hedyotis pauciflora
Herbs annual, rhizome short, nearly erect. Leaves clustered or solitary, lanceolate, 2-3.5 cm long, 5-10 mm wide, base rounded or microcordate, long petiole. The inflorescence is scattered from the leaf sheath; 1-3 flowers are petiolate; perianth is bell shaped, 6-lobed, dark blue; stamen is 6, with 1 largest one in it; filament is dentate, anther base is inserted, apically lobed; ovary is 3-locular, style is thin. Capsule long ovate. The flowering period is summer and autumn.
Born in wetland or paddy field. It is distributed in most parts of the country.

[function indications] Qinggan Liangxue. It is used to treat high fever, dyspnea, hemoptysis, hematuria, red eye, erysipelas, carbuncle, swelling and sores.

[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 3-5 yuan (1-2 Liang fresh). External use: tamping.
[selection] 1. To Treat Hemoptysis: 1 to 2 liang of Hedyotis pauciflora. Mash the minced juice and mix it with honey.
② For the treatment of blood in urine: one to two taels of fresh Hedyotis and one to two taels of fresh rushes. Take it in water.
③ Treatment of wind fire and red eye: fresh leaves of Hedyotis diffusa, mashed and applied to eyelids.
④ Treatment of erysipelas, carbuncle, sores: rare flower duck tongue suitable for placement. Mash and apply to the affected area. (Fujian Chinese herbal medicine was selected)
