[plant morphology] high lettuce
Biennial herb, 1-1.5 m high. Stem erect, pilose. Leaves alternate, milky, elliptic, 6-9 cm long, 2.5-3.8 cm wide, apex short pointed, base cuneate, extending into wings, margin with sparse, shallow teeth, veins and petioles coarsely hairy below. Panicle terminal, involucral bracts 3-4 layers, imbricate arrangement, inner 2 layers longer, outer layer shorter; ligulate flower, yellow. Achene with many ribs, corolla.

② Treatment of carbuncle, ulcer and swelling: Boil the tender leaves of Vallisneria amurensis and apply the ointment to the affected area.
