Herbs perennial, ca. 40 cm tall, all short hairy. Stem erect, slender cylindrical, smooth, purple. The stem is much branched from the base, often more than 15 branches. Single leaf alternate, lower part early off, lanceolate, 1.5-3.5 cm long, 0.5-1.5 cm wide, margin serrate. Flowers solitary, axillary, terminal raceme; calyx 5-lobed; corolla symmetrical, 2-lipped, upper lip divided to base, 2-lobed, lower lip 3-lobed; stamen 5; ovary inferior, 2-locular. Capsule, calyx persistent, apically divided into 2 petals.
Born on the edge of sunny field or beach. It is distributed in Yunnan and other places.
