Perennial herbs, 40-100 cm high. Rhizome thick and transverse, scales triangular, sieve shaped, brown. The leaf blade is pinnately divided, 30-40 cm long and 20-30 cm wide; the lobes are linear, 7-15 cm long and 3-4 cm wide, blunt, margin microwavy; the leaf is papery, green, with obvious veins and reticulate veinlets. Sporangia small, stellate, scattered under leaves, sometimes fused; spores biphasic, smooth.
