[plant morphology] Convolvulus
Perennial twining herbs. Leaves alternate, ovate oblong or triangular ovate, less than twice as wide, apex slightly rounded, base subhalberd or sagittate, entire or microwavy. 1-2 flowers in leaf axils, slender pedicel; bracts 2, linear; corolla pale red, funnel-shaped, with 5 inconspicuous lobes. Capsule globose. The flowering period is from June to August.
Born in the field and village grass. Distributed in Northeast, northwest and other places.
[collection] the whole grass was collected in summer and autumn for fresh use. In summer, the flowers are picked and dried in the shade. The roots are picked in autumn and dried in the sun.
[chemical composition] the underground part contains caffeic acid. The aerial part contains quercetin, kaempferol and caffeic acid. Each part contains β - methyl chestnut bark. It also contains resin and alkaloid.
