Deciduous small trees, about 4 meters high. Branch bark gray brown, branchlets glabrous. Leaf blade elliptic or oblong, 5-7 cm long, 3-4.5 cm wide, apex narrow, long acute, base round or broadly cuneate, entire, nearly smooth above, occasionally covered with very fine hairs, white hairs below, vein axils with yellowish brown hairs, lateral veins 5-7 pairs, arc-shaped parallel arrangement; petiole about 1 cm long. The flowers are small; calyx 4, inconspicuous; petals 4, yellow; stamens 4; inferior to ovary. The drupe is oblong, 1.2-1.5 cm long, about 7 mm in diameter, glabrous and red at maturity; the peduncle is 1.5-2 cm long. Seeds oblong, both ends obtuse. The flowering period is from May to June.
