[plant morphology] Pteris rapae
Perennial herbs, 15-60 cm high. Rhizome short thin, obliquely ascending or creeping, strip lanceolate scales, reddish brown. The leaves of the vesicular sac are oblong ovate, 10-25 cm long and 5-15 cm wide, 2-pinnate, with 3-5 pairs of pinnae. The lower pinnae are petiolate, sessile upward, with 1-3 pairs of lateral pinnules, or sometimes only 2-forked. The terminal pinnules are very long, connate with the lower pair, and the pinnules are lanceolate, except for sporulation The apical part of the sporangium is serrate, and the outer part is entire; the leaves of the sporangium are smaller, the pinnules are oblong or ovate lanceolate, and the margin is serrate. The sporangia were linear and arranged continuously at the edge of the sporophyll, but no sporangia were found at the top and base of the pinnules.
It is found by the stream or under the forest. It is distributed in South China, Fujian and Taiwan.

Remove the rhizome with dry product and chop it. Add 15 Jin of water to each Jin, boil for 1 hour, filter, add 10 jin of water to the residue, boil for half an hour, filter. Combine the two filtrates, heat and concentrate to the concentration of 0.5g crude drug per ml (that is, 60 ml is equivalent to 1 liang crude drug), add preservatives for standby. Dosage: 60-120 ml daily for adults, once or in fractions, 7 days as a course of treatment. The same amount of liquid medicine can be used for retention enema at the same time, once a day. 85 cases were treated, the cure rate was 57%, and the adult cure rate was 93%. The average time of purulent stool disappearance was 3.5 days, stool formation was 6.2 days, stool frequency turned to normal was 4.7 days, body temperature dropped was 2.7 days, abdominal pain disappeared was 3.7 days, stool culture turned to negative was 5.5 days. No serious side effects were found during the treatment, a few of them were vomiting, loss of appetite and epigastric discomfort, which were improved after stopping the drug.
