[plant morphology] Kaempferia kaempferi

Perennial perennial herbs. Massive rhizome, single or several connected, light green or green white, fragrant; thick root. No aerial stem. Leaves 2, almost sessile, lying flat on the ground; round or broadly ovate, 8-15 cm long, 5-12 cm wide, apex acute or nearly obtuse. Base broadly cuneate or round, thin, green, sometimes with purple color on leaf margin and tip; veins 10-12; petiole extending into sheath, 1-5 cm long.
