Perennial herbs, 15-35 cm high. Rhizome short, erect, covered with ovate lanceolate coarse sieve pore like scales. The leaves are tufted, petiole 8-15 cm long, glabrous, light green; 2-pinnate compound leaves, linear, 10-20 cm long, 3 cm wide, with a long tail protruding from the apex; the pinnae are mostly oblong, the lower pinnae are slightly shortened, the base is unequal, with a very short stalk, the small pinnae are narrowly linear, the first end is blunt, with a veinlet on the top, and the base is upward, the small pinnae split again; herbaceous, green. The sporangia are linear, 1 on each pinnule; the sporangia are membranous and open upward.
