Annual herb, 20-30 cm high. Stem tetragonal, branched. Leaves opposite, sessile, lanceolate, 1.5-2 cm long, 4-6 mm wide. Flowers axillary or terminal, many flowers, calyx 5-lobed; corolla white or lavender, 5-lobed, long and thin tube; stamens 5, anthers oblong, spiral curl after flowering. The capsule is long columnar and its flowering period is from July to September.
It is found in Lake Basin of desert area, wet and salinized sandy land. Distributed in Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Hebei, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi and other places.
