[plant morphology] big side Gong
Herbs perennial, densely yellowish hirsute. Rhizome lignified with adventitious roots. Stem erect, 15-33 cm high. Leaf 1, erect, at the top of stem, almost sessile; leaf broadly ovate elliptic, 22 cm long, 12.5 cm wide, sometimes with 1-2 scaly leaflets, also attached to stem tip, about 2 cm long, nearly 2 cm wide, apex pointed; margin serrate, base heart-shaped or round. Flowers arranged in umbels or single at the top of the stem, pedicel about 2 cm long; calyx 5-lobed, lobes long elliptic, apex pointed, 12 mm long; corolla lower part combined into a tube, 4 cm long, apex 2-lipped, with 2 rows of hairs in the tube; stamens 4, after pollen dispersal, filaments curled, anthers pulled into the corolla tube.
It grows in the moist alkaline soil near the forest.
