[plant morphology] Sedum chinense
Perennial herbs. The taproot is developed and lignified. Stem erect, up to 1 m tall, simple or sparsely branched at base, sparsely short white hairs. The basal leaves are tufted and petiolate; the stem leaves are alternate, short petiolate or sessile, lanceolate or linear lanceolate, base narrowly cuneate, apex acuminate, white hairs on both sides, veins and margin villous, margin irregularly sparsely serrated. Flowers bisexual, solitary in axils of branches, bright yellow, sessile, open at night; calyx tube about 4 cm long, lobes 4, lanceolate, flowering often two connected, involute; petals 4, obovate or obcordate; stamens 8; ovary inferior, 4-locular, stigma 4-lobed. Capsule long cylindrical, slightly 4-ribbed, 2-3 cm long, white pubescent. Seeds brown, irregular triangular. The flowering period is from July to September. The fruit period is from August to October.
It grows at the foot of sunny mountain, wasteland, grassland, dry hillside and roadside. Northeast and Shandong, Jiangsu, Sichuan and other places have cultivated.
