[plant morphology] hyacinth

Subshrub like herbs, 30-45 cm high. The stem is much branched, the branches are long and thin, oblique or scattered, and pubescent. Double pinnate compound leaves, alternate, 7.5-10 cm long; stipules linear, long pointed; leaflets 25-60 pairs, falcate coin shaped, 3-5 mm long, rarely 8 mm long, apex short pointed. Pedicels axillary,. Single or several flowers arranged in a short raceme; sepals 5, lanceolate, apex acute; petals 5, yellow, rarely longer than sepals; stamens 10, 5, long and 5 short, alternate; pistil 1, ovary linear and flat, style curved, stigma truncate. Pods linear, flat, 2.5-5 cm long; ca. 5 mm wide, sparsely hairy. Seeds 16-25, dark brown, smooth and glossy. The flowering period is from August to September. The fruit period is from September to October.

Born in the forest between the slopes and fields, roadsides. Distribution in North China, South to Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Taiwan and other places.
