Climbing deciduous shrub, 1-2m high. The young branches are green and the old ones are gray yellow. The bark often cracks irregularly. Twigs, leaves and petioles are yellow hairy and glabrous at last. The leaves are odd pinnate compound, with 9-13 leaflets, 6-10 cm long and 3-4 cm wide, ovate or oblong, apex short pointed, base round to several heart-shaped, with filamentous hairs on both sides; the base of the total petiole is slightly expanded, 15-20 cm long. Raceme drooping, 10-15 cm long; flowers white, 2-2.5 cm long. Pods 15-20 cm long, densely tomentose. The flowering period is from June to July.
