Introduction to Achang Nationality
In 1990, there were 27708 Achang people, mainly distributed in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province. More than 80% of them lived in Husa and Lasa in Longchuan County, and in Shadao and Dachang in Lianghe County. There are also a few scattered in Dali, Yuxi, Chuxiong and Xishuangbanna. According to historical records, the Achang Nationality is one of the earliest indigenous people in Yunnan. They lived in the Jinsha River, Lancang River and Nujiang river basins in Northwest Yunnan in the early days. Later, they migrated to the southwest and settled in the Husa and Lasa concentrated areas. Therefore, they retained many traditional ethnic characteristics in clothing and social customs.
Achang dress is simple, simple and beautiful. Men usually wear blue, white or black double breasted top and black trousers with short and wide trouser legs. Young men like to wrap around white Baotou, and change to black Baotou after marriage. Some middle-aged and old people also like to wear felt hats. When young adults pack their heads, they always leave about 40 cm long ears hanging behind their heads. For example, when you go out to the market or attend a festival party, you like to carry a "tube handkerchief" (satchel) and a machete.
Women's clothes are different in age and marriage. Unmarried girls usually wear all kinds of big or double breasted coats, black trousers, waistband and black Baotou. Women in Lianghe area usually wear red or blue blouses and skirts, with leggings wrapped around their legs and black cloth wrapped around their head, which is about 0.3 meters high.
