She didn't tell anyone about it when she woke up. It's a coincidence that this kind of pancake was also eaten during the meal that day. Cixi was very happy and asked who made it. After inquiring, the eunuch reported that it was made by an imperial chef named Zhao Yongshou. As soon as Empress Dowager Cixi heard this, she was even more happy. Because Yongshou represents eternal health and longevity, she ordered the imperial chef to be awarded 20 Liang silver and an official position. Because this dish fulfilled Empress Dowager Cixi's dream, it was later handed down as "dream cake". It symbolizes the realization of the dream and has the moral of wishing the people who eat it health, longevity, promotion and wealth
Production steps:
Step 1: melt the yeast in warm water and let it stand for a while.
Step 2: mix the flour and sugar, and pour in the yeast water.
Step 3: stir to form a ball.
Step 4: melt the alkali with water.
Step 5: dip your hands in alkaline water and knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
Step 6: knead the dough and let it stand for 30 minutes, then expand slightly. Knead the dough again to let out the air.
Step 7: knead the dough into two strips, one thick and one thin, with the ratio of 2:1, and the length should be equal.
Step 8: cut into eight equal parts, and there are eight large dough and eight small dough.
Step 9: roll the dough into thin slices.
Step 10: round the dough and roll it in the oil.
