A Qiang town
AQIANG Town, belonging to Qiemo County of Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the north of Qiemo county and the south edge of Tarim Basin. It is connected with kulamulak Township in the East, Tibet in the south, kunqibulake pasture in the West and yingwusitang Township in the north, with a total area of 20784.83 square kilometers.
In 1950, a Qiang town was a pastoral area; in 2016, it was changed from a Qiang township to a Qiang town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of the town was 1549. In 2019, the town will have six administrative villages.
Wheat is the main food crop in a Qiang Town, and sheep and poultry are the main animal husbandry. In 2018, there was one industrial enterprise in AQIANG town.
History of construction
In 1950, it was a pastoral area.
In 1958, a Qiang animal husbandry commune was established.
In 1962, it was designated as a Qiang brigade.
In 1981, the AQIANG brigade was transformed into an AQIANG commune.
In 1984, a Qiang commune was transformed into a Qiang township.
In 2016, AQIANG township was changed from township to town.
