The origin of huopai

Few people know the origin of huopai town. Relevant experts have participated in the compilation of the town annals of huopai, and collected two versions of the origin of huopai. one way of saying is that in the past, because of abundant water resources and rich products, huopai was often harassed by some thieves nearby. One year, a gang of bandits decided to loot the village at night. When the villagers got the news, they were all in a panic. At this time, the village's patriarch summoned everyone to think about how to drive away the thieves, but they did not come up with a good way. Just when everyone was ready to clean up the gold and silver and run away, a stranger who had just moved in came up with an idea. That night, the villagers lit firewood around the village to make the village bright. Both adults and children walked around the village with torches held high. Some people even knocked pots and pans to earth shaking. As a result, before the bandits came to the village, they were scared to flee. Later, in order to thank the stranger, the people erected a stone archway beside the village, which specially recorded how the village used fire to retreat the enemy. Later, the stone archway was dilapidated for a long time, but the word "fire" on the sign was clearly visible, so it was called "fire card" by people, and later it was called "Gang card" by people. the other theory has a longer history. It is said that in ancient times, when marching to deliver military information, the herald had to hold three signs, namely red, yellow and white, to show the urgency. Later, when hopai was built, it was not built in hopai, but in Gaoying, about three kilometers north of hopai. This is because hopai is low-lying and not suitable for building a town.
