Xinmin Town, subordinate to Fengjie County, Chongqing, is located on the South Bank of the Yangtze River in Fengjie County, adjacent to Hefeng Township in the East, Fengping Township in the south, Wuma town in the West and Yongle Town in the north. It is 12.9 meters away from Fengjie County Government, with a total area of 97.38 square kilometers.
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Xinmin Town belonged to Nan'an Duli; in September 1992, it was changed from Xinmin Town to Xinmin Town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Xinmin Town was 31825. As of June 2020, Xinmin Town has jurisdiction over 2 communities and 10 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Xinmin Town is located at No. 1, group 2, guanyinan community.

History of construction
At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty, it belongs to the south bank.
During the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to guanyinan township.
In 1919, it belonged to Guanyin group and Xiaozi group. In 1930, it belonged to Xiaozi Township, the third district. In 1935, it was a small joint insurance. In the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936), it belonged to primary one, secondary two and primary four joint insurance. In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it belonged to Xiaoyi Township, Xiaoer Township and Xiaosi township; in August of the same year, Xiaoyi Township and half of Xiaoer Township merged into Wenfeng township; Xiaosi Township and Fengzi Township merged into Fengping township. In 1941, Xinmin Township was established.
In November 1958, Xinmin Township was changed into Xinmin commune.
In October 1983, Xinmin commune was changed into Xinmin Township.
In September 1992, Xinmin Township was replaced by Xinmin Town.
In July 2004, the organizational system was adjusted, and the Sanping, Zhongtai and Zhongxing villages in Jiushu Township and Jianjiao Township were merged into Xinmin Town.
