Xidatan town
Xidatan Town, subordinate to Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, at the north foot of Maomao mountain, adjacent to dongdatan Township in the East, huazangsi town and Songshan town in the south, Duoshi town in the west, Huangyangchuan town and Hengliang town in Gulang County in the north, with an administrative area of 242.2 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of West Datang town was 9113.
During the Yuan Dynasty, Xidatan town was under the jurisdiction of Xiliang Prefecture. In May 1983, it was divided into Xigou, daiqian, Xidatan and Nanchong townships, belonging to Xiama district. In October 1985, it was withdrawn and merged into Xidatan township. In January 2017, Xidatan township was built from township. As of June 2020, there are 9 administrative villages in Xidatan Town, and the town people's government is located in Xidatan village.
At the end of 2011, the total financial revenue of Xidatan town was 13.87 million yuan, an increase of 8.9% over the previous year. History of construction
In Yuan Dynasty, Xidatan town was under the jurisdiction of Xiliang Prefecture.
Ming Zhengtong three years (1438), for the Gulang Shouyu Qianhu jurisdiction.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of liangzhouwei.
In 1936, it was the second protection in Tianzhu District of Yongdeng County.
In February 1952, it was gaining Township and daiqian township of Tianzhu autonomous region, belonging to Xiama district.
In December 1961, it was the pasture of Xidatan, daiqian and Nanchong communes, Xidatan and heimaquanhe, belonging to Xiama district.
In October 1968, it was merged into Xidatan commune.
In May 1983, it was divided into Xigou, daiqian, Xidatan and Nanchong townships, belonging to Xiama district.
In October 1985, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into Xidatan township.
In January 2017, Xidatan township was built from township.

By the end of 2011, Xidatan town had jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, including Xidatan, Dongquan, Machang, baitutai, Saturn, Badu, Shangquan, Xigou and maliangou, and 47 villager groups.
As of June 2020, Xidatan town has 9 administrative villages: maliangou village, Xigou village, Shangquan village, Xidatan village, baitutai village, Machang village, Dongquan village, Saturn village and Badu village. The town people's government is stationed in Xidatan village.

Xidatan town has undulating mountains, high in the South and low in the north. The terrain is high mountains and hills. The main mountains are west Maomao mountain, perfume peak, and white tiger ridge. Ximaomao mountain, the highest peak in the territory, is located at the junction of the southernmost end of Xidatan town and Songshan Town, with an altitude of 4074 meters; yinmagoukou, the lowest point, is located in Shimenshan gorge, with an altitude of 2632 meters.

Xidatan town is a temperate continental semi-arid climate with less precipitation and low temperature. The daily extreme maximum temperature is 24.4 ℃. The daily extreme minimum temperature is - 25 ℃, the annual average temperature is - 0.5 ℃, the annual sunshine hours are 2529 hours, the frost free period is 120 days, the freezing period is from early October to the end of May of the next year, and the maximum freezing depth is 1.8m. Affected by the topography, the vertical distribution of climate is obvious. The annual precipitation is 350-400mm, and the autumn precipitation accounts for more than 70% of the annual precipitation. Suitable for wild mushroom growth.
hydrology
There are Xiaotan River and Xidatan River in Xidatan Town, which flow into Gulang county from southeast to northwest. The river is 19 kilometers long and belongs to the Shiyang River system.

The main natural disasters in Xidatan town are drought, hail, low temperature frost, flood and so on. The most serious hail disaster and frost occurred in 2003. Nine villages in the town suffered from hail, flash flood, snow and other natural disasters. The affected area of crops was 19000 Mu and the affected area was 12000 mu, resulting in direct economic loss of 4.29 million yuan.
