History of construction
In 1726, Nanhui County was established in most of Changren township of Shanghai county. At that time, the academy area was still a shoal. In 1810, there were two place names in Nanhui County, namely, ling2 Township, 5bao Township, 159tu Township, 7tuan and 74jia township. In the academy area, there were two place names: Shipi village and academy factory. Shipi village belonged to the South Xialiujia village of the first regiment at that time, and academy factory belonged to the North Xialiujia village of the first regiment. In 1884, Wang Gong Tang was built. The academy area to the west of Wang Gong Tang has become a land. In 1906, ligongtang was built, and the academy area became land. In 1909, Nanhui County had two towns and 17 townships except Chengxiang town. Most of the academy area was under the jurisdiction of Sandun Township, and a small part was under the jurisdiction of Datun township. In 1934, Nanhui County was divided into eight districts, 22 towns and 89 townships. At that time, some areas were set aside from Sandun Township and Datun township to build Shuyuan township (north of Yangyi port) and Huidong township (south of Yangyi port). Shuyuan township was under the jurisdiction of the first district of Nanhui County, and Huidong township was under the jurisdiction of the eighth District of Nanhui County. In the 36th year of the Republic of China (1947), Nanhui County was divided into districts and merged into townships, and the original district level administrative structure was abolished. There were 58 townships and towns in the county and 30 townships. Shuyuan Township and Huidong township (Huidong township was renamed Yunqing Township in 1946, and Yunqing Township and Nicheng Township were merged in 1947) were under the jurisdiction of Nanhui County until liberation. On May 14, 1949, the academy area was liberated and Nanhui County was divided into one city (Zhoupu city), one district (urban area) and Six Township Joint offices. Today's academy area is composed of academy Township and Nicheng town. To the north of Yangyi port is academy Township, which is under the jurisdiction of Nanhui County. To the south of Yangyi port, Nicheng town is under the jurisdiction of the sixth Township Joint Office of Nanhui County. At the beginning of 1950, township offices were abolished and the county was divided into one city, seven districts, five towns and 103 townships. At that time, the academy area was divided into four townships: Academy, Xinbei, BeiYao and Tangshi. Shuyuan and Xinbei are under the jurisdiction of Laogang district; BeiYao and Tangshi are under the jurisdiction of Datuan district. In November 1951, Nanhui County readjusted its administrative divisions and completed the administrative construction at the village level. At that time, the four townships of Shuyuan, Xinbei, BeiYao and Tangshi were all under the jurisdiction of Nicheng district. In February 1956, the academies and Tangshi townships in the academies area merged into Shuyuan Zhongxiang; BeiYao and Xinbei townships merged into BeiYao Zhongxiang. The two townships are still under the jurisdiction of Nicheng district. In September 1957, Nanhui County withdrew districts and merged townships, and abolished the establishment of district level. There were 49 townships and 16 townships in the county, including 290 senior agricultural production cooperatives. The former Shuyuan and BeiYao Zhongxiang were merged into Shuyuan Daxiang, which governs 14 senior agricultural production cooperatives. So far, the Academy began to build independently. In September 1958, Nanhui County established 10 people's communes, including Shuyuan. Shuyuan people's commune covers most parts of Shuyuan town (Tuanjie, Youyi and Liangjiu villages in Shuyuan town are under the jurisdiction of Nicheng people's commune), all parts of Wanxiang Town, and some parts of Xingang town (Sizao, Huanghua, Fengchan and Guoyuan villages). It has nine battalions and companies. In June 1959, the 10 people's communes in Nanhui County were adjusted to 21 people's communes, and the areas under the jurisdiction of the Academy people's commune were also adjusted accordingly. The unity, friendship, and long-term regiment originally designated were re merged. When the Academy people's commune was established in 1958, all the Wanxiang and Xingang areas merged were separated out. In August 1969, the Revolutionary Committee of academy people's commune was established. In December 1980, the Revolutionary Committee of the Academy people's commune was abolished and the commune management committee was restored. In April 1984, the society was removed and the township was built. The Academy people's commune was changed into academy Township, and the brigade was renamed village. With the development of urbanization, in September 1995, Shuyuan township was replaced by Shuyuan Town, with 14 administrative villages, 145 villagers' groups and 1 neighborhood committee (including 15 residents' groups). In May 2003, the former Shuyuan town and Xingang town were abolished and a new Shuyuan town was established under Nanhui District.
