Dachang Town
Dachang Town, subordinate to Wushan County, Chongqing City, is located in the north of Wushan County, bordering Pinghe Township in the East, Shuanglong town in the south, Futian Town and Longxi town in the west, Guanyang town in the north, 60 kilometers away from Wushan County Government, with a total area of 188.86 square kilometers.
In Qin and Han Dynasties, Dachang town was the seat of Wu County; from June 2004 to March 2005, Baiguo Township and Baiyun Township were merged into Dachang town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Dachang town was 43662. As of June 2020, Dachang town has 4 communities, 27 administrative villages and the people's Government of Dachang town is located at 31 Shenzhen road.
The main food crops in Dachang town are corn, wheat and potato; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, sheep and poultry. In 2018, there were 23 industrial enterprises and 52 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Dachang town.
History of construction
In the Qin and Han Dynasties, it was the seat of Wu County.
In the early Jin Dynasty (265), Taichang was established.
After the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Dachang town was set up under the second district.
In April 1953, when the township was divided into three townships, Qili and Baiyun Jiulong, were set up from Dachang town; in September of the same year, Longfeng township was set up from Dachang Town, and Yingpan township was set up from Jiulong Town.
In March 1955, Dachang town was subordinate to Dachang District, and Longfeng, Yingpan, Jiulong, Yangxi and Ninghe townships were merged into Dachang town.
In April 1958, when the commune was formed, Dachang Town merged with Qili, Baiguo and Qianjia to form Dachang commune.
In July 1960, some district teams were separated from Dachang commune to establish Qianjia commune and Baiguo commune.
In July 1961, Dachang commune was divided into Dachang Town, Qili commune and Dachang commune.
In May 1962, Shuanghe and Jiulong communes were set up from Dachang commune. Dachang town was merged into Dachang commune, with seven brigades of Longxing, Fenghuang, Dachang, Xinglong, Shuangsheng, Shuangma and Xingsheng.
In April 1984, Dachang commune was changed into Dachang township.
In February 1985, Dachang township was changed into Dachang town.
In April 1992, the administrative division of Wushan was greatly adjusted. Dachang District was abolished and the working committee of Dachang District was established. The former administrative areas of Qili, Longzhu and Yangxi townships were abolished and assigned to Dachang town.
From June 2004 to March 2005, Baiguo Township and Baiyun Township were merged into Dachang town.
