Zhuquan town
Zhuquan town is the seat of Jiahe County Party committee and government, and the political, economic, cultural, transportation and trade center of the whole county. Zhuquan town was established in February 2012 by Chengguan Town, Zhongshui Township, Shiyang Township and Lianhe township. Zhuquan town governs 38 villages and 9 neighborhood committees, with a total land area of 94.63 square kilometers (in 2017), accounting for one fifth of the total area of the county, and a total population of 91316 (in 2017), accounting for one fourth of the total population of the county. The town government is located in Renmin North Road (former Chengguan town government).
Historical evolution
In February 2012, Zhongshui Township, Shiyang Township and Lianhe Township were abolished and merged into Chengguan Town (renamed Zhuquan town). the former Chengguan town is located in the southwest of Jiahe County, on the West Bank of Zhongshui. It covers an area of 10 square kilometers and has a population of 40300 (about 2007). It has jurisdiction over 5 neighborhood committees and 2 administrative villages. The town government is located at 42 Renmin North Road. Scenic spots include "Pearl Spring Moon" and "Bingxue Jiayu". There is a memorial of Jiahe revolutionary martyrs at the memorial site. It is named because it is located in the county. In 1949, it belonged to Zhuquan town. In 1950, it belonged to Chengguan Town, the first district. In 1958, it was merged into Zhuquan commune. In 1976, it was changed into Chengguan commune. In 1981, it was changed into Chengguan town. In 1996, it covers an area of 10 square kilometers and has a population of 25000. The town government is located in Renmin North Road and has jurisdiction over 11 neighborhood committees including Chengdong, Chengnan, Chengxi, Chengbei and Zhuquan, and five administrative villages including Zhushui, Xinchao, Hantian, Shaling and qiaomaitang. The former Lianhe township is located in the northwest of Jiahe County. It covers an area of 23.8 square kilometers and has a population of 14600 (about 2007). It has jurisdiction over 1 neighborhood committee and 10 administrative villages. The township government is located in lianhewei, 7.5km away from the county. "Shiyan tengkong" is one of the eight sceneries of Jiahe. the township is named after the residence. In the countryside, the soil is fertile and lotus ponds are everywhere. In summer, lotus seeds are fragrant and lotus flowers are blooming. Because there is a fair, it is named lotus fair. It belonged to Qingwei Township in 1949, Lianhe Township in the Fourth District in 1950, and Tanping Township in 1956. It was incorporated into Guangfa commune in 1958 and Lianhe commune was established in 1961. In 1964, Lianhe commune was abolished, and Pingshi, Lianhe, Songjia, Fuyang, Shuixi, datianling, Louhu and other brigades were assigned to Guangfa commune, while Shiyan, Shiqiu, Xiaofeng and other brigades were assigned to Tanping commune. The Lianhe commune was restored in 1978 and the township was changed in 1984. In 1996, it covers an area of 23.7 square kilometers and has a population of 13000. The township government is located in lianhewei Road, and has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages and Lianhe neighborhood committees, including Shiqiu, Shiyan, Lianhe, Xiaofeng, songjiashan, Shuixi, Pingshi, Louhu and datianling. yuanzhongshui township is located in the northwest of Jiahe County. It covers an area of 31.6 square kilometers and has a population of 19600 (about 2007). It has jurisdiction over 1 neighborhood committee and 14 administrative villages. Township government in shuichong, 1.7 kilometers away from the county. Because the Zhongshui river is 10 kilometers long, it is named Zhongshui township. It belonged to Jinping Township in 1949, shuichong Township in 1950, Maolin Township in 1956, Zhuquan commune in 1958, Maolin commune in 1961 and Zhuquan commune in 1964. Zhongshui commune was set up in 1972 and changed to township in 1984. In 1996, with an area of 31.6 square kilometers and a population of 17000, the township government was stationed in shuichong, with jurisdiction over 14 administrative villages including shuichong, Sharen, Luojia, Huangshan, baishitang, Dalu, Maolin, xichewan, shangnitian, Xiangxi, Matou, Tantang, Yangmei and xinmadi, and Zhongshui neighborhood committee. Yuanshiyang township is located in the southwest of Jiahe County. It covers an area of 38.3 square kilometers and has a population of 19400 (about 2007). It has jurisdiction over 1 neighborhood committee and 12 administrative villages. The township government is located in leigongjing, 2.8km away from the county. In 1949, it belonged to Jinping Township, in 1950, it belonged to Shiyang township of the first district, and in 1958, it was incorporated into Hongqi commune (Zhuquan commune). Wenjia commune was established in 1961 and merged into Zhuquan commune in 1964. Shiyang commune was established in 1978 and changed to township in 1984. In 1996, it covers an area of 38.3 square kilometers and has a population of 16000. It governs 12 administrative villages in Xingluo, Shangdong, Wenjia, beiditang, dapingling, Shiyang, leigongjing, Macheng, Liujia, Fukou, Xiache, Nanling and 2 neighborhood committees in Shiyang and Nanling forest farms. in February 2012, Hunan Province adjusted the township administrative divisions of Jiahe County as follows: Chengguan Town, Zhongshui Town, Shiyang town and Lianhe town were merged into an organic system to establish Zhuquan town. Zhuquan town has 38 villages and 9 neighborhood committees with a total area of 131.56 square kilometers and a total population of 101800. The people's Government of Zhuquan town is located in Renmin North Road (the former Chengguan people's Government). as of 2017, the town (township) has an administrative area of 94.63 square kilometers and a permanent population of 91316.
