Shangyao Street

Shangyao sub district office is located in the central and western part of Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In December 2001, the administrative region of Nanning city was adjusted, and Yongxin District People's government established Shangyao sub district office in January 2002.

Shangyao street is located in the west of the central area of Nanning. The total area is 10 square kilometers. The total population was 70697 (2010). It has jurisdiction over four communities of Nantang, Luban, daxuenan and Xiangsihu, and three administrative villages of Chenxi, Chendong and Shangyao.

It belonged to three districts in 1950. Yaotou township was established in 1956, Changqing commune in 1958, XiXiangTang commune in 1960, Shangyao commune in 1962 and township in 1984. It has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages including Ximing, Xincun, Chendong, Chenxi, Shangyao, Yonghe, Youai, Xiuxiang, Xiuling, Wanxiu and Huqiu. After the abolition of Nanning suburb in December 2001, five villages of Shangyao Township, namely Shangyao, Chendong, Chenxi, Yonghe and Ximing, were under the jurisdiction of Yongxin District, five villages of Xiuxiang, Xiuling, Wanxiu, Youai and Xincun were under the jurisdiction of Chengbei District, and Huqiu village was under the management of Chaoyang street of Xingning District. General situation

In March 2005, the people's Government of Nanning was subordinate to the people's Government of XIXIANGTANG district after the readjustment of its administrative region.
