Yanshuai town

Yanshuai town is located in the east of Cangyuan Wa Autonomous County. It faces Gengma county and Shuangjiang County across the river in the north and northeast, Ankang and Xuelin township of Lancang Lahu Autonomous County in the East and south, Mengsheng town and DanJia Township in the west, 120 km away from the county seat of Cangyuan County. Yanshuai town is subordinate to Cangyuan Wa Autonomous County, Lincang City, Yunnan Province, with an area of 454.46 square kilometers and a population of 31386 (2017).

Historical evolution

Yansai town was established in 1945, district in 1953, Hongjiu commune in 1969, Yansai commune in 1971, Yansai District in 1984 and town in 1988. The former Tuanjie Township was separated from Yanshuai commune in 1984 and changed to township in 1988. In 2005, Tuanjie Township was abolished, and its administrative region was merged into Yanshuai Town, and the government residence of Yanshuai town remained unchanged.
